Not mine but I did go check these out today:
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ele/d/klipsch-cf-3-oak-perfect-shape/6717545665.htmlWhen I originally emailed the seller, he wasn't really interested in sending me a picture of the tag on the back and he had no clue if they were version 1,2 or 3 so I knew I had to lay eyes on them to determine which version.
1. They most definitely are version 3. Short port tubes, black horns, colored wiring and a serial number from late 19952. They're in amazing condition. Edges of the cabinets are sharp, grilles are near-perfect, sequential serial numbers, very nice examples.
3. He's pretty firm on his price but I think he's open to offers that are close to his asking price.
4. Super nice guy and he's got some quality gear that you can listen to them on.

That's a great package price.

Yeah these need to be picked up to avoid being handled by shipping companies. Beautiful speakers.

If I was in WA state I'd seriously be considering the drive.

What is your impression of the bass between the models? I have read mixed reports on the bass from the CF4's.
Tightness of kick drums on the version 1 was better than version 3. That could be from the difference in the cone material or the difference between the 10" and 12" attack.

So, it seems, you preferred the CF3's to the CF4's.
Actually it was that I preferred V1 over V3.

I have 5 CF4 actually. Found a lone wolf v3 at the Pilgrimage this year. The idea is to make a surround setup with them. But the more I think about it the more I realize I may need alternatives for the back side for space reasons. May end up trying to pick up a bunch of KV4 or something possibly
Nice, another MN Epic owner. Let me know if you're willing to sell the single CF3 or a pair of the V1 CF3's. I also have stuff I'd trade (KG 5.5, Krell, Denon BD...) if trades are more your thing.
Sounds like we're building similar setups. I currently have two pairs of the CF3 V1; trying to do a 5.1 or 6.1 setup with Epics all around.- 1

Recently had a pair of CF4 V3 side by side with my CF3 V1 and I can say that though the differences are there, they're very minimal; some of which can be attributed to the 10" versus 12" woofers. It was a tough decision to sell the CF4 V3's because they absolutely smoked a couple of the other speakers in my collection but I can't keep them all.

If this had been the version with the wood platform, I would've been all over it.

Matching to my other CF3 V1. The end goal is a 5.2 (or 6.2 if space allows) surround setup. Currently have two pairs of CF3 V1 so I'm getting close....
And yes, I agree that they all sound great - recently sold a pair of CF4 V3 that were amazing sounding. -

I think you'd be surprised at how fast those speakers and amps would sell. A few quality pics, solid descriptions, researched prices and that gear will disappear, leaving a pile of cash behind.

I always wonder what these off-grid folks do for money. Say a guy needs a new truck or just needs food items he can't grow? Property taxes? Healthcare?

Is the KLF-C7 driver the same as CF2/KV4?
No, not the same.
KLF-C7 uses the k1062-kv
KV4 uses the k-1035-knI do not know the difference between the two but knowing the Epic series, I'm going to guess a different magnet and cone stiffness.

I sold a pair of really nice KLF-20's a while ago. They sat for a bit with nobody interested. Mine were Medium Oak finish so maybe it was the color? They finally sold for $580 - a bargain for the buyer if you ask me.
My personal opinion is that if he's asking $700, they had better be in immaculate condition or have some flexibility on the price.

In addition to the above Forte's, this pair of Quartets just outside Eau Claire look to be quite nice (no pics of the tops though).

A set of Forte II's just popped up on CL MSP
*EDIT: the seller replied to my email and said he's looking for $625 for them

Hello all, looking for a pair of the version 1 CF3 or CF4. Not too picky on finish but they gotta be within a drive-able distance of Minneapolis. Send me a PM with description, pics, price and location.
Thanks! -

Mine should arrive early next week. Guess I better sell my Denon BD player.

Great price. I'm still on the hunt for another pair of CF3 v1, wish these were closer.

Nice pair of CF-3’s, version 1 for sale. My hunt continues for my CF-4, version 1, cherry.
Ports look awfully short to be version 1
