  1. Justin- I think the font should be 3 Belles/La Scala 2 mains and a center. and the SVS as well. I think that was what you meant for the 7.1 ------------------ TJ Farnsworth "Imaging is Everything" ---------------------- Mitsubishi WS-65819 Mitsubishi SR-HD5 DirecTV Pioneer Elite VST-37TX Pioneer Elite CLD Laserdisc Sony CDP-M555ES CD Changer Panasonic RP-62 DVD Mitsubishi HU-S747 SVHS Klipsch Epic CF-2 Mains Klipsch Legend KLF-C7 Center Klipsch Quintet Surrounds Home Built Subwoofer Pronto Pro XBOX DreamCast
  2. I use Studiotech. They are definetly the way to go. I considered Bealla, owned Sanus and Salamander at one time, and StudioTech beats them all. It's worth checking out. ------------------ TJ Farnsworth "Imaging is Everything" ----------------------Mitsubishi WS-65819 Mitsubishi SR-HD5 DirecTV Pioneer Elite VST-37TX Pioneer Elite CLD Laserdisc Sony CDP-M555ES CD Changer Panasonic RP-62 DVD Mitsubishi HU-S747 SVHS Klipsch Epic CF-2 Mains Klipsch Legend KLF-C7 Center Klipsch Quintet Surrounds Home Built Subwoofer Pronto Pro XBOX DreamCast
  3. Sorry Avman, I did not mean to make that sound like I was flaming you or anything, which it obviously did. I just wanted anybody searching the forums later, or looking for info on products now, to be misinformed. I look for info here all the time on products, and I often find myself reading your posts. I know for a fact that you weren't trying to mislead anyone or anything even close to that. You are by far and above one of the best guys on this BB. I apologize that it sounded that way. I just wanted people the use universal remotes to be aware of the loss of that function in the unit. My bad for sounding like I was attacking you. Sometimes text doesn't always come off like you intend. 4. I saw one at Tweeter today- not sure on the model, but it was phenomenal. ------------------ TJ Farnsworth "Imaging is Everything" Mitsubishi WS-65819 Mitsubishi SR-HD5 DirecTV Pioneer Elite VST-37TX Pioneer Elite CLD Laserdisc Panasonic RP-62 DVD Mitsubishi HU-S747 SVHS Klipsch Epic CF-2 Mains Klipsch Legend KLF-C7 Center Klipsch Quintet Surrounds Home Built 'Uber' Subwoofer Pronto Pro XBOX DreamCast And another bedroom setup... but the signature is long enough!
  5. Everyone be advised. Avman's statements are false about the Sony CD Changers. There are numerous funtions that DO NOT work without the 2-way remote. I know- I just bought it. These functions are not a huge issue to me or I would not have bought it, but you might just want to be sure on all your information. The search functions and some other minor functions don't work properly without the 2-way remote. no harm, just FYI to whoever may read this thread in the future. ------------------ TJ Farnsworth "Imaging is Everything" Mitsubishi WS-65819 Mitsubishi SR-HD5 DirecTV Pioneer Elite VST-37TX Pioneer Elite CLD Laserdisc Panasonic RP-62 DVD Mitsubishi HU-S747 SVHS Klipsch Epic CF-2 Mains Klipsch Legend KLF-C7 Center Klipsch Quintet Surrounds Home Built 'Uber' Subwoofer Pronto Pro XBOX DreamCast And another bedroom setup... but the signature is long enough!
  6. Actually, I can set the distances for each speaker, and I do that. I was just wondering everyone's take on it. ------------------ TJ Farnsworth "Imaging is Everything" Mitsubishi WS-65819 Mitsubishi SR-HD5 DirecTV Pioneer Elite VST-37TX Pioneer Elite CLD Laserdisc Panasonic RP-62 DVD Mitsubishi HU-S747 SVHS Klipsch Epic CF-2 Mains Klipsch Legend KLF-C7 Center Klipsch Quintet Surrounds Home Built 'Uber' Subwoofer Pronto Pro XBOX DreamCast And another bedroom setup... but the signature is long enough!
  7. I was wondering- anybody have any thoughts about the importance of having your mains an equaldistance from the center? I am wondering how much of an effect this has. ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  8. Yea, I have seen all the sony units and the major problem with them is the remote. The unit has this 2-way remote that requires that remote to use some of the cd-players functionality. How much, I cannot seem to find out. It is a problem on two levels, #1- I have been a Pronto user for years, and have designed all my own custom configurations. I now have a ProntoPro, and am not willing to use another remote. #2: this unit will go in a fully enclosed cabinet (hence the need for on screen display) so there will be no way for the changer to communicate back with the remote. So anybody have any non-sony ideas? I am considering just buying a DVD changer and using for cds, but I'd rather have something that is tailored to cd use. ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  9. Avman, thanks for the info- that is perfect. do you think this is a better idea than using a DVD changer to accomplish the same? ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  10. Does anyone know if there is a CD player with on-screen (tv) display? I am looking for a changer. Thanks, tj ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  11. Yea, dude- let me know how that works. I might even buy a set of those guys off ya! Does anyone know how the C7s sound verticle? Can anyone think of another option? What about 8" bookshelf speakers? ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  12. I agree... and for a good cause too. ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  13. I didn't see what thread you were talking about thre Justin, maybe try posting it again. The problem with RS-3s though is that because of teh very odd location of these surrounds, tehy have to be pointed directly at the listener, and have obstructions on either sides. This is why, sonically, I don't think and 'dispersion' style surround will work. If I am wrong, please tell me everyone. TJ ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  14. Hey guys, I need some more help on surrounds. A while back, HornED made a great suggestion on some KSPs, but I just can't find them anywhere. Here is my situation: I need some rear surrounds that are direct radiators, that can be mounted on a wall, and angled down (they have to be up high due to location). I was thinking of usine KLF-c7s, but I am not sure how I can mount them on my wall, and I don't know how well they will behave verticle- as they have to be mounted verticle due to the wierd wall they will be on. My current setup is this: Epic CF-2s as mains, KLF-C7 as center, and Quintets as surounds (I have to peg them to get them to keep up- they suck for this application) Any ideas? I was thinking of SB-3s and trying to mount them somehow. ANY thoughts would be apreciated. TJ ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
  15. What home theatre mode does everybody use? I know some people go for THX Cinema Mode, but personally I prefer Standard mode on my Pioneer VSX-37TX. anyone find this to be the case? I'd like ot hear what everyone uses and their reasons for doing so. TJ ------------------ "Imaging is Everything"
