Thanks! It’s been popping up on my feed. I have to admit I’m interested but something stops me from reaching out. I have no experience with a “hip”. Do you?

I have a rough academy, if he wants to hear the difference.
With the loud tinnitus in my right ear, I probably would have a hard time telling the timber difference.
LOL!

Doh! Chicagoland with a couple hour radius.

Hello forum!
Ive downsized my media room and cleared up some floor space. I have room for a floor stand center speaker up to 36 inches. In the past I used an H3 and a single quartet to go between chorus iis. I sold both the singles to forum members, and the chorus locally, to tryout RF-7s. They were not my cup of tea so I moved on. Currently I am using quartets L and right and a vertical academy. It sounds great but i would like a larger speaker to fill up the gap in space. Hence is anyone looking to sell a single quartet, H(2,3)F(2,3)cw(2,3)? Am I missing any? I know they are out there! I could also trade my academy towards any deal. Crites crossover and titanium tweeter.
Thanks David

You should get the KLF-C7 or KV-4 instead of the academy.
This is a good deal on one, but a bit of a drive:

closer, but more $:

or this would be decent:

I hear all of these are excellent speakers! I’ve always heard the k-76 in the academy is closest to the heresy, Cornwall, forte line. I’d love to hear them all in the same room. Those KT-LCR look nice, never heard them, six inch woofers.

I’m putting together a Klipsch home theater, it looks will likely be four Klipsch Forte 2s (front and side), I’ve read that the Academy is the center of choice...
Anyone have one that they’re ready to move along to a new home?
Thanks,
Dave P.
PS - I’ve been doing a ton of research here, it’s a great site and I’m glad to be getting more involved.

I have an academy if you’d like to hear/buy In Chicago. Send me a PM if interested

Sigh... I was the only bidder. I knew I should of bought it for $350 but I couldn’t sell myself on the 7 hr round trip. I was hoping it would fall in my lap and compel me to drive....my mistake!

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I ended up getting a mint pair of chorus 1s, an hour away from me, shortly afterwards so I'm quite content atm. I'll jump on a pair of 2s one day when the right deal comes along 🤞
The Chicago ones? They looked great!

Yeah, something was amiss for sure. The mids should be full with lots of texture and life. The bass doesn't reach down to the depths, but what is there should be pretty controlled. Most people could be perfectly happy with the amount of bass they produce, and it's always detailed and articulate in my room.

Alas... they didn’t.

Why were you disappointed.
The mids seemed a little hollow and boomy bass. Could of been the room, electronics, source, humidity, moon cycle, day of the week, root day, fire sign rising, etc.

I’m in the minority. I was disappointed by the cw4s in a 10x15 room. But then again I was disappointed by cw3s. If you can place away from the wall I preferred forte iiis.

It's also a "B stock" speaker, so it may have blemishes. (However, most of these are very minimal)
Now, if only you could find another one to match! There were some floating around on Craigslist in the Chicago area, but I just checked and they all sold.
Good luck with your search.
Those were mine. They are gone!

I’ve been looking for another pair of quartets, or others, but those look great!

One is gone already!

Thanks bill!
im thinking I’ll just delete this thread and list then locally one at a time unless I can find a third.

Yes! Two black academies! Chicago $300 each.
both have crites titanium tweeters and crossovers. Great working condition being used as side surrounds.
here is my dilemma:
I am rearranging my media room and another set of floor speakers makes more sense. So, as much as I always wanted a third to try as LCR, I wanted to feel you guys out on a sell or trade scenario.
sell both? Sell one? Trade both for quartets or forte iis? Trade one for single forte ii or quartet?
they are great and I wish I could just stash. Message for more pics Or details

I know the flipper just paid $700 for them yesterday from a guy I talked to earlier. I was told I could have had them for $575. I wish this CL flipper would buy my stuff when I have something FS.
Btw if someone wants to come buy quartets for $700 I’ve got a pair! Come at me bro!

Easy nuff. If using as a l/r does the horn being lateral, like a typical k-76 horn and tweeter, would they have better sound for the room? Or is there something in the crossover or something else that would degrade the sound? TIA

Yeah. I that might be the limiting factor. I think I quartet/forte would be more truly full range for a center
