Ha!  Why not?  Their first from 1970 then the lineup changes over the years?

Supertramp were one of the first groups to be signed to the UK branch of A&M Records and their first album, Supertramp, was released on 14 August 1970.  Stylistically, the album was fairly typical of progressive rock of the era. Despite receiving a good deal of critical praise, the album did not attract a large audience.[12]

Basically a zilllion changes in the line up but Roger Hodgson survived as a co-founder along with Rick Davies.   Many great albums left Hodgson has survived and is still working when he wants to.  :)   Great album if you ask me!

    Enjoy!  :)

Since I like Supertramp a lot, I still have to get this one. As Your quote says, the music is quite different from what they did in the later 70´ies and early 80´ies. Interesting!

  2. Thanks George, had totaly lost track of the fact that make cable yourself. I have been thinking of making power-cords before, I did make my own speaker cables, but they don´t look as good as Yours... RCA I want to use to connect my CD player to the Kenwood. Phono cables are an option for later, when other things are done, I need space first, shelves!! 😉

  3. Just took the the time and hooked up the Dual 1218 to the Kenwood as well... What a difference! I noticed before, when I´d slung the M95 under the 601 (But still connected to the Marantz AVR.) an improvement in bass. But on the Kenwood – Bam!!

So I have three TTs for the living room/ man-cave. Two go on the Kenwood, and I need a phono-pre for the Marantz.

The Kenwood and TTs are to go on a seperate shelv, later on (Must build it first...). If I want to connect it to my CD-player I´d need a cinch cable approximately 3m long. Good idea? (Shielding/ interference...??) Your ideas guys?

  4. For the time being, only the one on the floor is running correctly. The one in the shelve I need to fix. New arm and cabeling in it, I also want to switch from a DIN plug to cinch for the cable connecting the TT to the amp.

    Classic Good Old HiFi rocks

And I use the Sansui AU 717 myself as you know

Yes it rocks, I can testify as well now 😋. But in this case we´re talking about a little shop near Berlin that specialises in bringing back to life all those heavy, old HiFi- contraptions we like so much.

So, now I´m down that rabbit-hole... Have to look for a matching tuner, maybe. Those things are as expensive or even more than the 8150...

They revise all kind of vintage gear as far as I know .Of course I love vintage gear , this one was a hammer amp , let me finish the KG 3.5 revision and in a few months the two will be married in Berlin   😂

    I need a loan!!! 😰

The combo KA8150 - Dual 601 - Heresy sounds really good, better than with the Marantz. I guess the phono stages in the Kenwood are better.

Purdy AND sounds good!  Tough to find.   :)

Yep, ripped a pretty hole into my wallet. But it is a serviced unit. I´ve been pacing around it for a year now and finally pulled the trigger. Next I have to build more shelves to put it in, next to the two TTs that will connect to it.

The guy who sold it also had a serviced Model 650 for sale, but that would have been 1.800€... Also interesting was a Optonica SM4646. Well, the Kenwood won, with it´s coolness-factor.

    Now spinning:

  10. I will look at it later today. The seller is very kind, he let´s me take it home to test in my room and my speakers ( I leave deposit (?) (The geman word would be "Pfand"...). Then I can decide, if I want to keep it. If I do, the deposit will be the first payment.

Have to go with a friend. We´ll go in his car, I don´t own one, and the amp weighs 16 kilos...

Bought 10 new CDs this week. If it wasn't for the price, I would have bought them on vinyl, but vinyl prices are crazy and and often from digital sources anyhow...

Yes, that´s why buy used, most of the time. Can´t be helped with new albums though...
