    The Other Discs

Yep, the first time I heard it, I thought:" Is this realy Devin Townsend?", cool stuff, because it´s different. Shows how many facets this man has.

Chillin´ with Devin after work, and it´s Friday!
  5. Hmm, I think You´re not alone.
  6. Hello fellow Klipsch-Heads, I know I saw a PDF file ages ago on the dimensions for Heresy risers. Using search here and on Google didn´t bring the desired result, maybe I used the wrong key-words... Can someone help me out please? Thanks!
  7. So it just happens that I own two copies of Pink Floyds Wish You were here: One german, side A scratched, paper inner sleve and postcard. The other italian, side B scratched, inner sleve made of thin cardboard. One day I´ll get one, with both sides intact!

    The Other Discs

While washing vinyl, I listen to: Tull - Ministrel in the Gallery - 40th Aniv. Ed.
  9. On being stupid -or- How things should not be done... So I´ve got my two TTs. I started noticing that the 1218 (Shure M91 MG-D, after-market spherical stylus) produced terrible hissing sounds, in particular on one record (Spandau Ballet - Through the Barricades). I took the system off and placed it on my 1214, same hiss. Now, instead of hooking both players up to my small system (the little Yamaha), or just the 1214 with the M91, I would have noticed the hiss still being the same, but less so with a eliptical stylus and different LP or the M75. Instead I was fixed on there being something wrong with the 1218. I tried different settings with tracking-force and anti-skating, no luck. I checked the Azimuth of the tone-arm head, wich was a bit off, still no joy. So, somehow it never came to my mind that the stylus was bad... No, I started messing with the tone-arm bearings. Result: One ball took the great bounce, never to be seen again. Luckily a member of the Dual Forum sends me a hand full of these bearing-balls for free, but I will still have to fine-tune that arm again... I read about after-market styluses having a 50/50 percent chance of working or not, but I was stupid instead... 🙃😉
  10. From the Dual forum:
  11. My bad, I should have used quotation marks 😋
  12. I guess it´s called crowd control. Cool! I only really know Don´t worry be happy, have to look what else he did, there must be a lot of other stuff. Things like this, you won´t get on record, beeing that it is more or less spontanous.
  13. Great Voice, I never knew he was a singer. Thanks!
  14. Round Two - Blind Guardian: Have to wash Disc#1 again, as it was much noisier than #2.
  15. This is my Vinyl of the day: And after I decided to trust the Pitch app on my phone more than my eyes, pitch seems acceptable.
  16. Still testing. Had to switch from spherical to an elliptical needle, the round one produced too much hissing... I think the stage is shifted slightly to the left, will experiment with tracking force and anti-skating.
  17. I like the 1984 version, so I wasn´t at all sure about the new one... But I liked it too, so go ahead!
