  1. I have a set of KG1.5's that I have connected to an older yamaha rx-496 2-channel stereo receiver. I have a powered KSW10 that I'd like to connect to this to get better bass response and I'm embarassed to say I don't know how to do this. My receiver doesnt have an LFO output, but it does have 2 sets of L/R speaker terminals (A/B) that can be working at the same time. Can anyone tell me if and how I can connect a subwoofer to a 2-cahnnel receiver? Thanks in advance for the help
  2. I'm trying to determine where I should set my ohm switch on my receiver - I just got a pair of ss-1's, an SC-1 and a KSW-10 to use with my KG-4's serving as fronts. All of the new speakers are rated at 8 ohms, but the tech specs posted on this site list the KG-4's as 6 ohm. All of the other KG series show an 8 ohm rating. Is the site in error? What is the true rating for the KG-4? Right now I've set the selectoor to the "at least 6 ohm" setting, rather than the "at least 8 ohm" Any help is greatly appreciated!
  3. Well, after CAREFULLY measuring, the SS-1's will just fit, so thats what I'm going to do. Can't wait to get it all hooked up! Thanks for the advice
  4. I'm going to get an sc-1 for the center andf use a pair of KG-4's for the fronts. Everything I've read here suggested that the KG-4's would be well matched to the sc-1 and ss-1. I'm assuming that they would also be matched to the sb-1's as well. Do you think I'd be happier putting a pair of SB-1's or SB-2's up front, rather than using my beloved KG-4's? I'm replacing my aged receiver as well, moving up from a Yamaha r-9 to either a Denon 1802, or sticking with what I know and getting a Yamaha 5560. Any thoughts?
  5. I am getting ready to buy a pair of ss-1's for my rear surrounds. Becasue of the odd way the room was prewired (the prewires are on very small pillars at the back of the room), the only way they will fit is if they are hung vertically, rather than horizontally like they are shown in the product photos. The dealer told me that I would get really bad sound if I did that, and recommended that I opt for a pair of sb-1's instead for the surrounds. Does orientation of the ss-1 really make such a difference? Wouldn't the wdsd technology help me in this circumstance? Will the sb-1's sound as good for the rears if I need to go that route? Thanks for the help!
