  1. Hi,

After 3 years of use, the wires on my Custom 3s finally gave up.

I decided to get the wire replaced with that of my iPhone.

The Customs are back to life but it seems there is no bass. It seems like only the tweeters are working. The overall volume also seems reduced.

    - Can different polarity between the two earplugs cause this?

    - Can the cable make such a big difference?

Has anyone tried this before? Any tips?

  2. Hello everyone and thanks for the response. I logged in today to say that after a couple of weeks of usage, i finally "got it" :) the sound is completely different from what it was when i first got it. perhaps my ears and/or my ear canals have adjusted to the headphones.

i will post a detailed impression soon. thanks again for the advice!

  3. Hi,

Money spent: 450 USD (here in Norway)

First Impressions: Doesnt sound any better than my previous earplugs worth 30 USD except for the sound insulation.

I have tried all sizes of ear gels. With each increasing size, i get more bass and less treble but the same mids. None of the frequencies sound clean, let alone pleasing. Btw, I am using the Echo Audiofire 2 soundcard and have my iFi system playing beautiful tunes...

am i doing something wrong here ?

  4. Hi,

I have been considering buying the Klipsch Image headphones and finally they have arrived in Norway but the price seems totally unjustified. It made sense when Klipsch Reps pointed to shipping costs and taxes etc for the ProMedias (which weigh much more than 10 grams) but it seems unlikely that these tiny headphones would incurr such a huge shipping cost... keeping in mind that China is closer to Norway than the US.

Does Klipsch have any influence on setting the price for their own products internationally? If so, I think its worth looking into. But until then, I am keeping my money in my pocket.

  5. thanks for the detailed tips. it does sound a bit too risky for a first timer. However, my system is at a service center right now and i plan to pick it up in a few days. I can ask the repair guy to give me the measurements if you can show me the locations on a pic maybe... that way you can be sure... and i can live to listen to the system again :)

  6. Hi,

I have the same problem here in Sweden. The repairs are costing me almost the same and I cant get around to justify the price. I believe I too blew my power supply as the system became weak before it blew. The amp was clipping at relatively low volumes and then one fine day, the system just died following a faint pop.

After taking a look inside the amp, I cannot see anything burnt except for R25 which seems half burnt. Can you take a look and help me with the resistor values for it ? :-D Its right on top of the power supply. Here is a pic.
