I did hear from him that he is using it but have not heard from him what he thinks about the sound. Time will tell.

All in all Sweetie seems to have survived the journey unscathed and appears to be well, successfully transplanted.

It's way too early for any kind of conclusions about Sweetie. In fact, I'm so tired I won't even describe any first impressions at this time (it's the middle of the night here). I'll just say Sweetie seems to have been successfully integrated into the #9 audio world. We'll play more later.

How do you like this preamp? Been thinking about trying one out they look good and get great reviews thanks.

I like it but, honestly, I don't have a lot to compare it to. (Yes, I'm full of Schitt). I also have a Schitt Saga+ and that's pretty much the extent of my experience. It's all still new to me.

It is being hard for me to sell this Sweetie after I have finished it. Like one of your kids leaving for college. Never done it before, selling an amp I have built. But the plan is to pack it up and send it on it's way first of next week.

What speakers and preamp do you have 51?

Currently I am privileged to oversee an embarrassment of riches including much of the Heritage line starting with HIP Heresies (sp?), old Fortes, Cornwall IIIs and my most recent and prized acquisition: a pair of Belles. All acquired prior to retirement and divorce so some may have to go in order to finance my audio habit (and pay the rent). Primary preamp is a Schiit Freya +.

I think I can understand. I have a couple of motorcycles for sale that I put together. It is HARD to let go. I hope it helps to know your efforts are appreciated.

There is no reason for you to be inside this amplifier when it is running 'hot' with this build. No adjustments need to be made.

Yeah, that would be me so I'm happy to learn no adjustments need to be made.

We want Area51 to get a good home built amplifier. Kinda like a joint forum effort with me being the monkey putting it together.

Message from Area51: Henry, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your efforts. I didn't do anything to deserve the privilege of eventually receiving the Little Sweetie amplifier (and a little electronics education) you're building. I just happened to hop on the forum right after you posted your intention to build a low cost, reliable SET "forum amp" and you were kind enough to exchange communications; granting me this good fortune. And now another stroke of good luck: being able to "watch" Little Sweetie being built. I'm a lucky monkey. Thank you.

  8. This Little Sweetie Forum Amplifier Project is absolutely the best news I have stumbled into recently. Discouraged, I had come to the conclusion that a quality SET amp is something I would simply have to live without. I just don't have the budget so I thought I would be going back to solid state to power my recently acquired Klipsch Belles. I keep reading about this so called "tube magic" but it's not going to work for me. Or, is it?

Thanks for this ray of sunshine!
