  1. So, I've upgraded from a Denon DRA-25 to a Peachtree Nova 150 + a Bluesound Node 2i.  I've been checkin it out for about a year and a half.  The Denon still works fine but it's 30 years old.  When I listen to bass heavy rock music like Motley Crue with pounding bass drums - the Denon still thumps it out on the passive radiators on the backside of my Vintage Klipsch Kg2's.  But the Peachtree Nova 150 just barely makes those radiators move with that bass thump.  I'd like to sell my Peachtree and consider an upgrade for my amp.  Would really appreciate any recommendations I could get.

    Thanks!

  2. Hoping to get some feedback / recommendations for the best Klipsch soundbar to go with between the Cinema 600 vs the Bar 48?  Anyone tried these that can give some thoughts and impressions between the two?  They both cost $499 each.  I'm not really sold on "wireless" vs hardwired.  And front firing would be better for the sub.  But, unfortunately, the soundbars all come with down firing subs.  Plus, I live in an upstairs apartment with a woman in her 60's below me.  Her living room is right below mine.  So, I'm not sure if a soundbar is gonna be the best option for my living situation or maybe another set-up such as either satellites or bookshelf speakers with a front firing sub.  What do you guys think?

Just looking and after reading about and doing some comparison against other product, thinking

@wuzzzer has landed on the pick.

Has other features that come stock that may not want or use, or consider, has all of the essential features you request. Unless something else turns out to be more desirable, thinking that with free shipping and a 60 day return policy, this is it at the moment.

Thanks, billybob!  I appreciate your help!

It is kind of interesting to compare the specs of the Marantz NR1200 against the PM7000N (which is double the price).

The NR1200 is a very versatile entry level amp with lots of connectivity, while the PM7000N is the audiophile cousin. The PM7000N would be a good 'long term investment' if you are after sound quality.

Thank you, ILI_MeloManiac!  I appreciate your help!!  Where can I get the best price on the amps you mentioned?  I’m definitely after sound quality but I don’t need more than 96 kHz / 24 bit (this is what you get for $20 a month streaming from TIDAL).   44.1 kHz /16 bit is what I’ve been listening to from TIDAL HiFi for $9.99 a month on my iMac with an Audioquest Dragonfly Black + Jitterbug connected to Klipsch Pro Media computer speakers.  And I’ve been streaming TIDAL through my Denon and Klipsch KG2’s (even though the Denon has issues with the right channel + distortion + the loudness knob is busted off) via Chromecast Audio.

Realistically, any modern Marantz that has these features you need is going to work great.  Just find one that's in the price range you're comfortable with and you're good to go.

I’m willing to spend about $1000 but I just want to make sure it’s well spent.  I’m not saying I want to spend $1000 if I don’t have to.  But I don’t really want to spend more than $1000.

I have not.  For streaming I use Pandora through my TV.  My receiver is a 2004 Sony ES that of course has no bluetooth or anything like that.  It sounds more than fine to me.

My Denon amp is old and has a problem with the right channel + distortion sometimes ( probably not worth fixing).  Plus, the loudness knob is busted off.  So, I'm ready to replace it with a Marantz but I need some help choosing as far as the model that would pair best with my Klipsch KG2's.

Hello again, Are you looking for new or vintage 70's integrated Marantz?

    Others will assist as before!

Hey, billybob!  As I had mentioned in my post.  I'd like to buy either a new or used integrated Marantz that will pair well with my Klipsch KG2's.  My primary choice of listening to music is streaming via TIDAL.  I'd also like some feedback on HEOS vs Chromecast Audio.  I'm only trying to stream CD quality audio.

  8. Hello,

After posting my first thread for advice / recommendations for an integrated amp to pair with my Klipsch KG2's I have decided on Marantz.  However, I could really use some advice / recommendations for which Marantz would pair best with my Klipsch KG2's.  My preferred way of listening to music is via TIDAL.  I have currently been using a Chromecast Audio to stream to my Denon DRA-25.  But I am very curious to hear how HEOS compares to using a Chromecast Audio.  I'm not interested in getting higher than CD quality streaming via TIDAL.  All feedback greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.  I hope it's ok to ask you guys for help with the selection of a new or used Marantz integrated amp.  The photo I've attached is of my speakers.  At this point, I'm not interested in buying more speakers.  I'd really like to just use the set I have with a Marantz.  This photo is the backside passive radiator on the left and the front with the grill off on the right.  They are 65 watts RMS at 4 ohms.  I'm just looking for a 2 channel integrated amp by Marantz.  However, I've never owned one before and the only store in my area (Lafayette, IN) is Best Buy (they do not carry Marantz).

  9. So, I think I've decided on MARANTZ.  Is there anyone who would recommend a Marantz integrated amp that would pair well with my speakers?  I would greatly appreciate it.  Keep in mind that my preferred way of listening to music is primarily via TIDAL.  I'd also like some feedback on using HEOS vs Chromecast Audio.  Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my thread.  I greatly appreciate it!

You might want to call Cory he is a dealer from forum. He might have a returned unit you could get. Wd40 is NOT the same as Deoxit. Not sure why you would not get Onkyo since they make Integra also . If your doing 2  channel only I would go for vintage receivers. If your looking for AVRs there should be sales on now. try ...Nebraskas furniture mart.....amazon.  https://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR494-Receiver-Ultra-Dolby/dp/B07SX61VNT/ref=sr_1_19?crid=2O4HP1FOYNDAA&dchild=1&keywords=av+receiver&qid=1607430054&sprefix=AVR+reciever%2Caps%2C440&sr=8-19

    https://www.paducahhometheater.com/collections/all?page=2   Cory's place.

Spend more money on speakers the Klipsch are very efficient so dont need huge power. I run Klipschorns with 24 watt HK 430 from the 70s.  I also own a Integra AVR that is a breeze to set up. Compared to what my sons have experienced from Denon. Not saying Denon is bad company I just would not buy one.

https://www.engadget.com/2019-05-15-sound-united-buys-onkyo-home-audio.html   looks like they own almost all of them now..lol. Much like Voxx owns klipsch and many others.

If you read my post - both WD-40 Contact Cleaner and Deoxit were used on the Denon.  Neither fixed the problem.  I'm not a fan of Onkyo or Integra.  I'd be interested in Marantz, Yamaha, or Peachtree.  Since for the first time ever I'm hearing negative feedback about Denon.  I've also heard that the same people who make Denon also make Marantz.  My focus right now is replacing my Denon and using my current Klipsch speakers. By the way, what is it about Denon that makes you all on these forums anti-Denon anyway?

Do you require an integrated with subwoofer output?

I could go with or without a sub output.  I don't watch a lot of movies and I don't have a sub.  I've also had a Yamaha home theater when I was into watching a lot of movies but I sold it.  I did like the Yamaha though.

  12. One of the other guys mentioned Pioneer, Onkyo and Marantz earlier in this thread.  I grew up on a Pioneer with Pioneer speakers brought back from Vietnam by my Dad.  Don't think I'd be interested in an Onkyo.  But what do you think of Marantz?  Do you have a recommendation for Marantz?  Model and where to get a deal on one?

Do you want a tuner for radio or an integrated receiver without?

No.  I don't care about a tuner.  I'm into streaming.  Primarily from TIDAL. Right now I have a Google Chromecast Audio hooked up to the DENON.  I don't have my heart set on DENON.  That's why I'm here looking for advice!

If you were to get more Klipsch, you know where to find it.

50 watt would you hear the speakers. There is alot in the KG line alone to check.

    Classical to rock blues jazz.

Those Peachtree had looked at before recently. They speak the language here...

    Welcome!

Was hoping you'd recommend an integrated receiver.  Brand/model and where to get a deal on it.  For now I'm just trying to decide on a receiver.

Not the same as deoxit and you can look at YouTube videos that show how to do it. There is a quick process that explains.

But off of the Denon now.

Reading where this is a hybrid tube and solid state amp stereo 2x125 wpc.

    What speakers will you use?

A friend sprayed deoxit on the DENON as well for me at his computer repair shop.  What do you recommend other than the Peachtrees??  I'm looking to get something good but hopefully not more than $5-800 bucks. Also, what do you listen to?  I'm listening to Mr. Big tonight.  I've played drums (rock) since I was 8 yrs old.

For now, the Klipsch speakers from this thread are the only stereo speakers I have

Yes they have used Peachtree but, we would need to know the model number first to advise. Let us know how removing the corrosion from the Denon works out.

I'm watching some auctions for Peachtree right now.  One is a Nova 125 with a tube.  2 are Decco's integrated amps w/ tubes.

I've never seen this model before, but they are very interesting: they have  a Passive Radiator for full range performance in the back, something the much bigger Forte floorstanding speakers have. It basically means that these mini-Fortes will have really good low frequencies! That's really good news! Keep them and cherish them, they are quite rare, I think.

I'm sure others will here will help you identify these speakers.

You might try to spray deoxit on the volume and balance nobs of your Denon - on the inside, of course - and see if that restores the broken channel. Any amp, modern or vintage, will drive these speakers. Pick one fitting your budget.

    Welcome to the forum, btw.

    UPDATE:

These are Klipsch KG-2 speakers and they are around $300 worth on US mainland.

Read more about them, and their specs, here: https://www.klipsch.com/products/kg-2

    Here are the specs: https://f072605def1c9a5ef179-a0bc3fbf1884fc0965506ae2b946e1cd.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/files/KG2-brochure.pdf

    And here about their history:

Already sprayed it with WD-40 Contact Cleaner (same as deoxit)
