  1. Can you say RCA two and three track .The microgroove disc was born in 1948!It took consumers and consumer hardware makers 20 odd years to catch up.And they never really did, that pesky old center channel that was part of Bell Lab's AND P.W.K.'s original concept. All the basics were in place while F.D.R. was still in office, that damn Second World War slowed things down(except the magnetic tape, the Germans were already working on that one, used it to assist the invasion of Poland). 2. Pssst,HDBRbuilder, James Marshall Hendrix Born:11/27/1942 Died:09/18/1970 and Garymd is RIGHT,can you all say "Living Stereo" "Living Presence" "Blue Note" "Riverside" "Columbia six eye" "Capitol" "Blue Backs" "English Decca" etc. etc. etc......... Analogman
  3. Piranha, Nothing but good things to say about JJ from my end.I own a HEAVYLY modified Anthem Integrated and had tons of problems with it as the mods made it more and more transparent. As a last effort (I was in stupid deep, money wise and still not happy)I replaced the entire compliment with JJ.WOW! Everyone knows tube rolling makes a difference but these tubes saved this amp from eBay or worse.I was so impressed I bought one of their amps and I've never looked back. The Anthem was good, about 40-45watts per,EL84out,but the JJ is another animal,70watts per(very conservative)of KT88 power.JJ built their line of amps to showcase their tubes,I bought it without even hearing it first.NO REGRETS.BIG,CLEAN,CLEAR and LOUD!!Price was right as well.Just a point of interest.JJ Electronic and JJ tubes have NOTHING to do with the old firm Tesla, except the CEO and owner of JJ Mr.Jan Jurco was at one time an engineer with Tesla. After the wall came down he purchased some of the equipment from the then defunct Tesla, moved it to Slovakia and started his own company.Truely new and improved in everyway the products JJ makes have NO relation to Tesla except those stated.Tesla tubes were crap,JJs are most certainly not.Several articles, including a KT88 shootout have appeared recently in Vacuum Tube Valley regarding JJ.And no,I don't work for JJ. 5. can you tell me where's he gone? Just fun'n around! Analogman
  6. Hallwalker and Garymd, Thank you for the input. The motor board and thus grill "opening" on my IIs and original Heresy both measure 14"X20".It's sounding like I have the current production dimensions.Hallwalker, would you mind measuring your 2000 grills for me so I can be certain before I order? Does anyone know for sure about the cane material?Thank you Gentlemen! Analogman P.S.(Garymd) Did you have a chance to read the post by Jimmy Earl James before they pulled the thread
  7. I tried to make the same point as DRBILL in the "rappers" thread. The rappers are not promoting Heritage. If that were the case I'd be optimistic It's the beginning of the end Analogman
  8. In the meantime some of the best Male Bonding (CONSTRUCTIVE)ever was wiped out an' ol' W.C.'s still amongst us. Analogman
  9. Censor the thread? And good ol' Water Chestnut is still showing up as an on line "member"What a disappointment. Analogman
  10. If it helps at all,my IIs are all Birch with the round "cup" in the back. Thanks Piranha. Analogman
  11. Thank you,Piranha, Yes,that is what I have been told as well.My 1984 Heresy(s) and my 1985 IIs will both accept identical grills. So I guess the question is did the dimensions change occur prior to late Is early IIs or is the latest incarnation larger still? The people at Klipsch were helpful, but didn't seem sure on this. Thanks Again, Analogman
  12. I thought I remembered Mario (aaron 1608) from his previous post entitled "Any subwoofer for Heresy?" here in Two Cannel Audio.Mario must be one of those Canadian Friends of ours.Seems I got quite the lecture for gouging forum members with regards to my asking price. Are Canadians exempt thanks to lower prescription costs or am I just paranoid? Analogman
  13. If Klipsch was still using "cane" just a year ago,and the copper logos, can anyone tell me why they could not or would not sell me the same for an old pair I restored.I wanted complete grills, not just the material. I also remember a thread some time ago when people close to Klipsch said the supply had run out.If it is once again available, please clue me in. Thank You, The Troll
  14. Selling "Golden Age" kit to Asian "collectors" is tantamount to robbing a church.Let them book travel and visit our technological heritage here,in a museum or at a forum member's home. You said you didn't NEED the money.? Analogman
  15. Garymd, Once again,I apologize.Sincerely.I am glad you made the "right" decision. I can't keep up with the typing thing, speed Still Friends? Mr. Troll
  16. Hey,what's up Mobile Homeless?! I am from Greenville,North Carolina.Well what do you know.I guess all "Southerners" DON'T think alike or marry their cousinsMaybe you and "Slick Willie" should move to France or maybe Taiwan and then you can really feel their pain That's Right Boys,LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!!!And Garymd,if what you said with regards to your wife is true, and you're still soliciting advice from forum friends, then you really are an idiot. 17. Asian built stuff inundated our (U.S.A.) market when it was decent; read copies of our designs built by near slave labor compared to America.Drove all the icons out of business or forced them to sell. Now in the age of ICs and "chip" architecture (which we were at one time the main player)the Asian manufacturers are selling the U.S. public at large cheap mid-fi,tariff free crap and doing very well.In the meantime, isn't it interesting that the best and finest collections of everything from Disney to JBL,Klipsch,Mac etc. are in Asia?If they're not willing to pay the freight,F?!K THEM! CLEAR ENOUGH? The Troll
  18. Garymd, Sorry to hear your troubles.Don't forget,Japan then Taiwan helped put people like Saul out of business in the first place. Here's your chance to really level the playing field in a small way."Sell Statedside" It's the Patriotic thing to do!! The Troll
  19. garymd, Relax, you're wound way too tight my Brother! There doesn't have to be an ulterior motive behind everything a stranger says!! Just because you don't get the motive behind a comment doesn't make the comment suspect.Relax. Peace Analogman
  20. Mobile Homeless, Thank you for the "heads up" Analogman (analogboy)
  21. Now I am ALMOST CERTAIN that I must be the only Black American male posting on this forum. Analogman
  22. Not recording technology being outpaced so much as the software and delivery formats. Analogman
  23. tubeglow, No soap box here.WELL STATED!With effort, even 78s can be amazing. Analogman
  24. bclarke421, Miles approved the one made at the "wrong" speed, remember?Maybe you need a better CD player,as the Sony reissue you referenced comes pretty damn close to the Lp.I guess the rumor is true, most practicing musicians have tin ears when it comes to REPRODUCED sound.Your "tone" is so self-righteous and indignant you must have a very tiny wee-wee. Your Friend,Always, analogboy
  25. "Something Else" MAY be a better first choice for first timers.I've given away dozens of copies to folks who have rarely,if ever,LISTENED to "JAZZ". So far my efforts have been well received. That "Autumn Leaves" leaves them misty every time. One Christmas all co-workers got the Sony reissue of "Blue",it didn't bowl them over like I thought it would (should).I am convinced (maybe my opinion only)that people who can't connect with "Kind of Blue" on SOME level, can HEAR but don't know how to LISTEN.
