I think this is the one  I am remembering, but i thought more folks gave data...sorry I'm getting old.

I have the A/4500hz installed in my khorns. Al recommends the  AP12-400 + ES5800 set.

You didn't sell the speakers to cover the braces for your child AND you slapped them on?

I think those speakers are beautiful and I love the grain....  I think you should sell them to cover the braces.

I can be there within 48 hours and will bring the $500 in cash....mmmmmmkay??

As to your bona-fide questions, I haven't a clue....I'm still slobbering over the wood grain.

I'll see your $500 and raise you $350

my $0.02...ur gonna need a way to attenuate going from K55 to the BMS. I use(d) mine down 13.7 dB. They are HOT. We live in the midrange yea but there be a limit.

I'm going to use Al's gentle slope  crossover. If they are still hot I'll  be back for advice.

  4. I have the VTracII horns, and currently have the K55s attached with his adapters. I'll go with the BMS.

Problem is I am running out of folding money. Bought a new McIntosh MA352, an RME ADI DAC, the V-Tracs, Crite's Cross-over and CT-120. Today I am going to buy a pair of DaveA's SMAHL horns. If I didn't already have the Khorns I'd probably have to find a job. Bought those in 1987 new for $1000 each.

    Thanks for your opinion.

  5. I've been watching you Deang, you have a lot of good information.

I ordered a set of CP25s from off of Amazon and found they sound terrible, so I returned them. If I recall correctly, Al told me that they were interchangeable with the CT-120. I decided to keep the CT-120s and enhance them with DaveA's SMAHL.  Maybe the crossover wasn't compatible, I'm currently using  the Crites crossover.

When Al starts taking orders again in July I'll order a pair gentle slope crossovers.

I found the Beymas to be very rough sounding. Have a look at the B & C tweeters.....the DE10 is a sweet sounding unit.

Re the midrange.....what mid driver are you using? Are you going to use the VTrac with a 2" throat or an adaptor to use the original driver?

Listening to the DE120 with Crites plastic horn - Really like the sound. May try other types of horns for this driver if available. Listened to the Beyma CP25, but didn't care for them, too harsh. I'll try BMS driver with ALK gentle slope crossover

  7. Has anyone converted their Klipschorns  to use the Beyma Tweeters. I ordered Volti's VTrac wood horn and am considering buying the CP25 tweeters. Would it be money well spent?

Currently I have the Crites crossover and CT125 tweeter and am still looking to improve the sound. The midrange seems to be harsh to me.

I am using a McIntosh MA352 amplifier and an RME ADI-2 FX DAC.

    Thanks,
