  1. Kind of figured but the posts and bridges made me wonder. This’s my first set of speakers not using banana jack posts or those spring clamps. Got these coming Sunday.
  2. By the way, are HIs bi-ampable? 4 posts with bridges. Or is this something else?
  3. Thank you brotha! I thoroughly intend to. Was a little disappointed the dude took the banana adaptors off that were shown in the pics. I would’ve ordered some days sooner so now gotta wait til Sunday.
  4. Sitting here thinking I screwed something up. And then again, 45 years is a long time to imagine no one at any time took a peek.
  5. Did I commit sacrilege or something? Serious question.
  6. Couldn’t just go disobeying OO1 now, could I? Thanks, man! So consensus on this vintage is to leave everything alone? Don’t mess with diaphragms, X/Os unless I want a newer Heresy sound?
  7. Will when I get ‘em! They’re supposed to be all original, probably never even opened. We’ll see
  8. Decided to pull the trigger. We rested at $750. Will update later today after pickup. Some additional pics. I feel these are in fantastic shape given the vintage and what I see out there. I do get a kick out of some sellers with their “excellent condition!” descriptions when the speakers looked like they fell down a flight of stairs.
  9. Makes sense—love it! Thanks for sharing
  10. Toledo, OH. Kind of a haul for me. If I were hot after new black CW IVs it'd be worth the trip for sure. HIIIs seem a nice deal too but, it'd be a splurge buy at the moment for me so again, roadtrip not warranted. Hopefully a forum member grabs either or both, though!
  11. I've also come to understand that these 2.2s, and likely 2.5s, are the closest timber match to the KG4s. So I could always flip one on its side, resituate the Klipsch emblem and call it good. Seems the sole difference from the center from Klipsch other than emblem placement was the V denotion for video shielding with CRT monitors, which's of course pretty moot today. But at the same time, I honestly feel the KV4's doing well with the KG4s. I'll probably do some tests though to see if I don't know what I'm missing.
  12. Thanks! That's a fantastic way to help preserve sonic bliss in a day and age where kids and, sadly, adults, think that lossy music sounds good coming from a cellphone speaker. Thanks again! Thanks, Mike! That's great how you've got them cleanly up there. Do you feel they provide decent surround sound even though they're not being angled down?
  13. Cornwalls are a no brainer steal for someone in the market for brand new and black. The heresys seem like a super solid deal for IIIs at $1k, no?
  14. Pretty much where I’m at. Thank you
  15. Absolutely. If they’re “the one” and you got a free day, much worth the adventure. I felt that way towards the birches he had purely for the nostalgia factor. Otherwise, I’m heavily biased towards walnut, and the veneers range from subdued to highly figured and busy. I like the latter so I’ll pay a reasonable premium for them. The ones here in question lean closer towards my preference so I’ll factor that. Appreciate all the input thus far, fellas.
  16. Aye. I grew up in the 80s around a pair of them. Hence why I want them in the collection As 001 stated, some of these H1s start approaching HIII prices which's why I'm wondering if they're notably better sonically, or if it more falls into the realm of marginality and/ or subjectivity.
  17. I always look up completed sales to gauge. One can never go off of people's ask. You think it's a bit rich for them. OK cool, thank you for that. I'm seeing if he's negotiable.
  18. I can be back home before kids or wife's home lol. Is there a much improved difference other than the pretty risers? I'm not as knowledgable on Heresy yet as I am on Epics. I thought H1s were desirable because of exact same horns as Khorns, etc.? Seems the greatest differentiator are the IVs with their porting as that may help with the lowend extension issue some folks cite.
  19. Also, he had RBs that were about the nicest birch figuring I've ever seen. But I was a day late on them. He was asking $675 for those
  20. When was the last time you were in the market? Sure seems like the market more than doubled since goverment started leaf blowing money around. I'd think we should see a cooling down of that though. All that stim money was given back at the pump and grocery store.
  21. Factory riser I take it? Very subtle rise. I like the rise of the IIIs and IVs more.
  22. Looks like very superficial scratches on the tops and a couple minor nicks
  23. They'd be a 5 hour roundtrip but the person seems reputable so I'm going on the assumption that they're going to sound great. They are HWO with slanted risers. I have close ups of the very minor flaws. Posting momentarily...
