  1. I was wondering what kind of oil anyone could recommend for black rf 7's??[^o)] Thanks Dan
  2. Bill, I don't remember, but I set mine to 80 and that seems fine. Dan
  3. Bill, no you can't set the individual crossovers. There is only a default crossover. Now you must understand I am a Noob to this, or more specifically, that if it sounds good, I will just leave well enough alone. All you can do is run auto setup and control different db levels. Sorry I can't give you more info that most people on this board could, but I hope this helps. Dan
  4. Bill, no amp yet. Gotta give a little to get a little. I would like to put one in before years end, and might go the tube route to push the RF-7's for 2 channel. We'll see. Dan
  5. I just got my SR 6003 and am VERY happy with it. To me, it sounded better than the 2809 and VSX01 for HT and 2 channel. It is much better than my old NAD, and when my wife says it is a noticeable difference, that says a lot. I bought mine from 6aveelectronics for $749 shipped by finding a coupon code on line. Needless to say, money well spent!![] Dan
  6. I picked up the RF7's yesterday, and boy do they sound good!! They are currently being power by my old NAD 711 receiver, but the difference is night an day to the synergySF1. The RSW 10 is also a nice little sub. It is smooth and very unobtrusive sounding. Seems to provide just the right amount of bass for movies. The fact that I really don't know what an awesome sub is supposed to sound like, I can't complain about this one. I now need to look for a true surround sound receiver for movies. Would you recommend anything in particular, or should I just go listen to a bunch? Thanks. Dan
  7. Well, I have an old NAD 711, but new technology seems to make a big difference. I would like to only spend 500-600 bucks. Trying to find an RC7 right away might not go too well with the WAF. Decisions Decisions! Dan
  8. Hey guys, I have an opportunity to buy some RF -7's and an RSW 10 for around $1300 in excellent working condition and with very slight scatches.(can't see from 2 ft away) I was wondering if this is a good price, and if so, what inexpensive receiver might you pair this with. I currently have sf2 towers and an sc2 center and was considering moving the sf2's to the rear, but would be stuck with the sc2 in the center for awhile. Money would slow down the rc7 purchase. Thanks Dan
  9. I just purchased a set of AW-525 outdoor and so far am very pleased! My question is, I am powering these through my receiver pre-outs with a 250w amp(125 per channel). Is this too much for them? So far, they sound AWESOME! Thank you in advance for your help. Dan
  10. Yes, he does claim that they worked. I also tried to get the grill off, but you're right, that isn't easy! I don't want to further damage them in case I send them back. He says they are 1 1/2 years old and there are serial numbers on back. Getting them for 100 bucks was a great deal(or so it seemed). Thanks Brac Dan
  11. Purchased used from a private seller on ebay. Just wondering if anyone has heard of both tweeters going out. Not purchased from someone pretending to be something on TV!!! Dan
  12. Hello. I just received a pair of aw400's purchased on ebay from a private seller, and upon connection noticed there were no highs from tweeters(cymbals etc.) I was wondering if this was a known issue or if I should dispute the purchase. Any info is greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!! Dan
  13. Does anyone have any experience with neon signs and the interference that they cause with radio and TV reception? I was wondering if anybody know of a suppressor that is strong enogh to prevent this? The Radio Shack brand does almost nothing with removing the static. Anyone information from anyone who has had any luck with fixing this would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, Dan
  14. I recently just purchased the sf-2's and sc1 and am very pleased with them. If money is not an issue, as it was for me(new house, new baby), I would recommend the reference, but go listen to both side by side if you can. That will help immensely. You might also want to consider going to the floor standings instead of the bookshelfs with either series. Which ever series you choose, you will be pleased!! Happy shopping!!
