I just cruised this thread. I get the concept. I used this method to gain match head units to amps in car stereo installs. Very simple and effective way of getting the most out of audio gear.

Living room 5.1 Marantz with a Mix of Wharfdale, B&W, Polk, and a GoldenEar ForceField 3 4. 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab Sony XAV-9500ES Head Unit Hertz Components front doors, Hertz Coaxials in rear doors, Dual 10's Rockford P2's in a sealed box, 2 Kicker KX series amps one 4.1 channel with sub channel and one 4 channel ( I abuse this system daily )

Same issues with the update here. I now have a sub thump when The Fives come out of stand-by. The random popping from the main speakers. And the constant resetting of the sub woofer level to default when the speakers come out of stand-by. The issues are consistent through all the inputs. I mainly use the Optical (TOS) link but have checked USB input, Bluetooth, and HDMI and all inputs yield similar results. None of these issues were present before the 2 step update. Is there a way to roll back to previous firmware?
