I put homemade risers underneath (carboard cutouts). I want to get some real wood Heresy risers. I did this to direct the sound more towards my listening position.

Yes it is an Antique Sound Labs MG-Si15. It is an integrated SET 5wpc and 15 watts is Triode. I use it almost exclusively in SET mode (flip of a switch). It is incredible what 5 tube watts will do!

Wow! That looks awesome! Since I am new to vinyl, I have a question... What causes the popping that I hear on some of the used records I bought (is it the recording, scratches, dust)? Rob

Are there any audio clubs in Southern California?

Thanks for the info. Your cornwalls look awesome! Did the front of the speakers come like that (wood) or is that a custom mod? Rob -

Thank you to those of you that gave me good helpful feedback. For the other people...I am 32. Rob

I am new to vinyl and bought a bunch yesterday (along with a turntable). How do you store your vinyl collection? Should records lay flat in a stack or side by side (like books)? Are there special storage units for records? Rob

Yesterday I bought a Music Hall MMF-5 and a quicksilver tube preamp! This is my first dip in the vinyl vault. I drove up to Los Angeles to pick them up and stopped by Amoeba Records...wow! They have over 100,000 albums on vinyl...many of them for $1 each! Check out the photo... Rob

Thank you. Your set-up looks nice too. Did you convert a bedroom into your theater?

Thanks. Since I took those pictures, I have built 6" risers and toed them in at a 40 degree angle. So, now I have corner placement that PWK recommended. I should post a new picture...

Most tube amps expose the tubes (because they look cool). My amp is made by Antique Sound Labs (http://www.divertech.com/antiquesl.html). I think they offer kits in other countries. The amp I bought is pre-assembled. It is amazing how loud a couple of small speakers and 5 watts can get! I am running 2 heresy speakers and the detail, soundstage and sheer volume is amazing.

What variety tubes would you recommend? How would it change the sound? p.s. I just pointed the speakers upward by putting a book under the front of the speakers (they are about 6 feet apart).

Good question...no comment!

I just picked up an antique sound labs tube amp today (MG-SI15DT). It puts out 5 watts in SE mode and 15 in Pentode mode (with the flip of a switch). I set up a 2 channel system in my home office with a pair of Heresys and my denon cd player. The system sounds awesome so far... Rob
