  1. So, I continue to get to know you folks which is great. Do to my recent “honeymoon” with my new found Klipsch excitement I may be taking things a little to seriously…and needless to say, spinning in circles…:). I do love my music. Soooo, As I listen to my K402’s with K1132 Drivers on top of my LaScalas and Yorkville UCS 15 Horn sub; Dialed in on my DBX Driverack based on some settings (I think) Roy generated a while back; and the mapping of same settings @Chris A sent me for my XILICA that I have not tried yet, I am taking a deep breath. I am sure many of you are glad about this. The relationships I am building and the quality folks on this forum are unmatched. @Coytee no deal at this time to buy you a pair of new Heritage…but never say never…:). On My List I will never complete I am adding; 1. Fit in a listen on my JubScalas today. Just fired up the tubes for the day. 2. Take further steps to understand and ring out my room with a balance of measurement and listening. 3. Try my 942/4 cabinet (whenever). While no jubilee horn I am learning that it is a good cabinet. I have a torn speaker cone that happened in shipping I need to address. Damaged 15 is a K-45-EP. No big deal (I hope I can get from Hope). I understand that at a Jub fest a while back this cabinet and K402 held up pretty well against the, UG…and some actually preferred it. And yes I want a total Horn system. I had written off these 942 bass cabs with unfounded bias of “it ain’t a horn”. We shall see. 4. Take a walk and smell the preverbal roses. Sincerest thanks to all for the help. Have a Super Day! Mike PS- I know my current DSP settings are not for the K1132 and for K691 (I think) aka BC75 but it sounds pretty good but needs work…:).
  2. No offense taken @mark1101 and you are correct. An impulse situation and apologize for the nonsense. Seriously. The single cabinet makes no sense for me at this stage. Mike
  3. You guys are cracking me up. @babadono yes I like mono…:) but not all the time. The new heritage is way out of my league as well. I respect that none of you guys are telling me what to do. True Pro’s. Someone tell me what to do…:). Is it possible to build one of these? I am not a wood guy but are plans attainable if I can never find another one of these. @Coytee is my single similar to your pair or are they a different generation of the “underground”? I am trying to understand how many generations of Jubilees there are. I see some have 4 shelf brackets and some have 3. I did read a thread that cited some differences. could I use this as a sub short term. I saw one person had jubiscalas and used the Jub box as a sub. Not ideal but…. Thanks all…I know I am exhausting this one..
  4. Thanks for the insight guys @Coytee @001 should I try to get out of this deal if I can? Sounds like finding another will be impossible and this iteration may not be the most desirable. ugggh..
  5. @Schu you remember this jubilee cabinet on eBay you commented on. Is it a big mistake buying this thing? What are the chances of me finding another one. I have my K402’s and was hoping to put together a Jub set up. I believe these are older cabinets. Someone said it is an underground Jub and not sure what that means. Thanks for any thoughts. Mike
  6. @mark1101 exactly what does it mean that it is an underground Jub? Any insight appreciated. Did I make a bad move here? Thanks much, Mike
  7. @OO1 that’s the one I just bought…
  8. Thanks everyone for some ideas. @grendel23 I do not have xlr’s on my XILICA but just small plastic connectors I think are called “phoenix connectors” but I could be wrong. @babadono I will be making my own and appreciate the ferrules idea for the bare wires. The guy who had this before me had no cover on the bare wires. Can’t imagine they did not touch/short at any given time. Interesting the XILICA is an impedance balanced output. Good to know. Prior owner also used mono price cables and most likely received guidance from the forum. Is the mono price cable on par with a good Belden, etc.? Thanks guys..
  9. Hey Mark, thanks for the response. I have one and looking for another. This is what I am looking to match shown below. Not sure of age, revision, etc. it has K31-E’s in it. Thanks for any ideas. Mike
  10. Anyone have any decent IC recommendation I can cut one end off for use with the XILICA phoenix connector? My amps are single ended. Input may be RCA or balanced depending on my set up. Could do some simple soldering if the best way to go with a good wire/connector recommendations. Thanks, Mike
  11. Anyone have any Jubilee Bass cabs they are looking to get rid of? I don’t know much about the history or design changes. I would expect the latest and greatest Jub is in a league of its own. I am trying to see if it’s possible to find Jubilee bass cabinets. I have my 942/4 cabinets as original and LaScala as current low end but would love to have the jubilee bass cabinets. Does anyone ever sell them? What is the, “underground jubilee”. Is it crazy to try and find these. Thanks for any feedback, Mike
  12. Working on next steps with DSP on my K402/LaScala (or KPT low cabinet)/UCS1 system. 3-way XO setup with XO points at 480/420 to LaScala and 50hz to mono UCS1 sub (since I only have 1). Currently using my DBX PA2 and Driverack260 since I understand them and are easy to adjust variables (for me) because I know them. As part of a recent acquisition I have an older XILICA XD8080 and getting familiar to its interface. It’s certainly not as simple as my PA2 iPad interface. I.e. how do you just turn off the limiter on XILICA in the windows program/setup. I will figure it out but not the simplest, UI. Anyone have a suggestion on my DSP application? Should I use the XILICA? XILICA, folks say it is still a pretty decent processor even at its age. I would rather not buy anything but…. DBX equipment sounds pretty good but best suited for live sound PA work or venue work. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, Thanks, Mike
  13. THANK YOU….THANK YOU…..THANK YOU!… @mikebse2a3 just what I needed. Next big question @Khornukopia as I begin my K402 journey……after I try my DE750TN’s ….are the axi-2050’s the (never ending) end game. And I can say is at this stage the K1132’s sound pretty darn good.. hmmm thanks all
  14. Awesome cat! Thanks you guys….sorry for the confusion. I am sure it’s me not you. Coytee, my issue is when trying to use a 4-bolt driver mounted at the plate, without the snout, mated closely to the horn with bolts going through the plate (as typical) and attaching to the horn 4-bolt pattern, the mounting plate dogs (that bolt to the verticals) hit the driver when facing toward the driver. It is a non issue when using the snout because the snout fits inside of the plate mounting dogs. I am not sure what to call the plate pieces (dogs) that mount to the vertical stands. Using the term flanges was confusing. All I know is when I flip it over so the dogs face away from the driver allowing the driver to mount flush on the plate the 4-hole pattern does not match up. It’s also tough to get the entire bolt hole pattern scribed to drill plate with new holes because you cannot get to it from underneath since the horn flare blocks the hole. Thanks for the discussion….I am always hoping I am missing something and most likely am…:)
  15. Thank you very much. I am looking for some mounting plates for my K402’s to use 4 bolt drivers where the plate attachment flanges face toward the horn (and not toward the driver) and line up with the 4 bolt holes on my K402.
  16. Hey, The Dude (funny)…do you know if the K69 driver is 4 bolt or 3 like the K1132
  17. Thanks. Good idea with the socket and thanks. Actually, a section of schedule 40 PVC works as well. Oddly the bracket hole is slightly large so centering this is a bit tough. How did you get at your holes to scribe? The 2 are easy but others are not a clear shot for marking due to horn flare blocking. Thanks again…
  18. Anyone have a K402 bolt pattern/opening template made from your horns. For driver side? I have to flip my driver mounting plate/bracket around to mount 4-bolt drivers without snout. With all the holes in the plate none line up with 4-bolt pattern when flipped over. Want it to be exact and trying to mark holes, etc. from underside is difficult. Easy enough to create one from my horns but figured I would check. Thanks
  19. Got it..thanks for re-stating the obvious I did not measure the driver exit but you (and DaveA) are spot on. I just reviewed the cut on K1132 which is what I have. It’s not a 2” so it’s a flare to meet the horn. The good news is it was intended for the “2-way” application. Maybe limited with response and compared to other drivers but sound pretty decent. Significantly better than anything I have used (K401, 511b) which ain’t tough competition for the K402. Even with it being crossed at 470 (below recommend low point). Thanks for Faital tip.. probably save up for the Celestions.
  20. Thanks, KT88 and interesting. I was told my setup which includes the big (4) 15 bass cabinet came with the K1132/3 like it says in the brochure for THX Cinema offering. Seems to track consistently. Except for the adapter/extension. I am running 2-way (and will stay 2-way) with K1132 crossed at 470hz. A driver change will happen and love the TAD forum feedback for sure. I do like the Axi2050 ability to go lower as the LaScala bin does not sound great run up high, IMO, but know others may disagree. Any thoughts on the adapter? And it’s length taking the driver away from horn entry point? Which was apparently used on my set-up to go from 3-bolt (driver side) to 4-bolt (horn side). Also, whoever did this had to carve out the adapter to fit within the stand bracket. Why they didn’t just flip the holding plate around I’m not sure. Maybe it hits the horn and have not tried. My first step may be to try my DE750TN-8’s mounted without the adapter and see how they sound. With the end game of TAD or Axi2050. My gaps due to my current abilities and inconsistencies with, REW is to hopefully find XO/PEQ/Time Alignment settings for DE750TN’s and Axi2050’s ideally using Lascala bass bin crossed over lower based on an LR24 for now unless someone thinks differently based on experience. I did see that Chris A is using different slopes with his set up. Which is obviously a good set up. Thanks much… looking forward to capturing my experience and feeding it back to the forum for others. Mike
  21. First and foremost. THANKS! Makes sense this may be an 1132/3 based on where I think they came from. So you think that adapter was original? Seems odd when I see all the drivers mated without. A bit of a Frankenstein. Maybe the 3-bolt pattern governed and it was cheaper to design around adapter. They sound pretty good but I expect based on what I learn I have not tapped the full potential of my, K402’s. My system is getting there with the help of you and others. Next step for me is sorting out the best driver for my, K402’s. My setup is a flipped over Lascala ( not going to cut them up; but they are beat up ); K402’s on top; Yorkville UCS1P (crossed at 50hz). Currently using my DBX for XO/DSP because I know it and use for band/PA work but got an older XILICA XD8080 in my deal I will use if it still works. Any thoughts/ideas/direction on drivers and PEQ/XO, appreciated. I picked up an older post on settings for a JubiScala and using these for now. Interesting with different XO points for horn and bass bin (420/470) and 24 slope and some PEQ settings on input and output. Apparently Roy D came up with these playing around with test using Lascala bass bins with K402. Not even sure my drivers can go to 470hz but they have not cooked and it sounds pretty good. Have not plotted yet. i have started with REW but just can’t seem to get consistent results on output data. Really respect what many are doing with plots. It’s not easy. It may be a calibration issue with my DBX mic but not sure. Much work to do here…and to little time. I am going to search site first but may start a topic on this since it’s pretty explicit. In my deal I also received a pair of B&C DE750TN-8’s that appear to mount without adapter. Step up? I hear maybe a bit fatiguing but have not tried. End game for now appears to be, Celestion or TAD’s. Side Note: my B&C drivers did not have any studs/washers/nuts for mounting. I sent B&C an email to them and Gail jumped right on it and is sending me a replacement set no charge including shipping. Pretty cool to experience customer service like this. Thanks again for the help, Mike
  22. I recently picked up a pair of Klipsch KPT 942/4’s with K402 horns. I am using them with LaScala bass bins and a Yorkville folded horn sub. It sounds pretty good. My puzzler is regarding the driver. The guy who sold them to me believes they are the stock driver but there is no label anywhere. He also (as part of the deal) threw in a pair of, B&C DE750TN-8’s. The original drivers on the horn are attached with an adapter that goes from a 3 bolt Phillips pattern (at the driver) to a 4 bolt/stud and not attachment to the horn. The adapter is about 4” long. The adapter obviously changes the throat length of the horn. I would think not good. Anyone ever seen this? Pictures attached. Every other picture I see of K402’s shows the driver mated directly to the horn with no adapter. Thanks for any feedback. Mike
