  1. IRONWOODS, Thanks for the reply. If so, it must be at the speaker end since the "business end" of the speaker wire is not connected to the amp and the buzzing still exist. My hope is a sloppy terminal connection on my part or maybe just touch up the solder points on the speaker terminals. If not, the speaker wire is picking up some sort of interference from the AC line/s. I can get under the house and re-route but if the problem is in the wall cavity then I'm SOL as I see it. Regards, Mike
  2. I have a PS AUDIO GCA-MC 500 x 7 (seven channels @ 500 WPC - 8 ohms!). The GCA/GCC models have received many excellent reviews in the past year. They use the B&O class D "Ice" module. Runs very cool and is about 80% efficient. About 10 months old, only in service for 3 months, minor "rack rash" = 9/10. $6,000.000 shipped! MSRP: $9,995.00 Let me know at: mmiles@icrinc.net or mmiles442004@yahoo.com . Regards, Mike
  3. For months I had buzzing in the tweeter in the left surround (and a very small amount in the right surround). The problem could be one of many things such as: amp channel, prepro output, speaker cable, interconnect cable to prepro, AC or the tweeter itself. Now that the wife has moved out and my free time is no longer occupied with sex I thought I'd some troubleshootiing. It turns that even with the speaker not plugged into the amp it still buzzes somewhat (about 3 - 6 dB less than with all components connected). So is it a.) bad tweeter or b.) speaker wire in line with AC and dirty dimmer? If it is b.) that would be a bummer to fix at this stage. I could always pull the speaker out of the wall and see then disconnect the speaker terminals but I seriously doubt that it is the tweeter. Thoughts and comments? Regards, Mike
  4. I have 3 pair of these cables in stock. The plan was to put them in my system but that is not going to happen because: a.) Cary 303/300 CDP works better using RCA single ended into the L/R channels of the 7.1 inputs (meant for SACD and DVD-Audio players). b.) My latest toy, Audyssey Sonic MultiEQ (guys I heard the demo this is a great tweak but costy at $2,500.00 MSRP and you need the mic kit to calibrate) only accepts RCA single ended cables between the EQ-Processor-Amp path. I have these listed on Audiogon for $299.00 but for my fellow Klipsch forum members I'll do $265.00 shipped (USA lower 48 states - UPS BROWN) and I pay the PayPal fees! email me directly at: mmiles@icrinc.net Thanks for looking. Regards,

  6. XLR's are also used in the "PRO" world because they are not easily "kicked out" of say a mic or a stage amp since most good XLRs lock. Regards, Mike
  7. Again this is a multi purpose room and BTW there is no WAF in this case, its just me... Since I need somewhere for myself, son and others to sit I can not have a "matching" 5.1 (L/C/R and Surrounds), it plain and simple won't fit. The surrounds need to be in-walls or wall mount, again that leaves out any Heritage line option (I know I'm going to here about that... "Hey just mount the Heresy's to the wall with a bracket"). Currently in-walls are RW-5 and I am looking into the RS-5650S. The room is 16 x 24 x 9. There are 2 windows on the rear 16' wall, the screen and equipment furniture are on the front 16' wall, 2 windows and an fireplace on a 24' wall and the other 24' wall has a 10 x 8 opening into the dining room in one corner (next to equpment and screen where one speaker will be located) and a 2.5' opening to the foyer in the rear corner. So you can see there are some placement and acoustical challanges. What about La Scallas and the new RC-64 center? Regards, Mike
  8. The room will not allow a "matching" 5.1 system. It is a multi-purpose room and I need some space for furniture. The surrounds presently are Klipsch RCW-5 in-walls which may be upgraded to the new 5600 or 5800 in-wall line. What about this... 3 x Heresey 2 x Cornwalls with Heresy center 2 x La Scallas with Heresy center Let me know your thoughts! Regards, Mike
  9. What would be a great Heritage HT package? If you used Cormwalls or LaScallas what center would you use? RC-7? What about 3 X Herseys? What is the current MSRP on the Heritage line? Regards, Mike
  10. Why did Klipsch have to make the damn thing (RC64) so long? 31", come on... It won't fit in my cabinet! Regards, Mike
  11. Sorry no boxes. I also have the RC-7 center channel in black with box, I think. $400.00 Regards, Mike
  12. They looked impressive from a fit and finish regard and you plans with the DSP module are on par if not exceeds others in the field. The line will be 12 - 15 - 18 as I recall. What is the power output? Are using the new class D modules from B&O or Tripath? mm
  13. Is the "RT" line the prototypes at CES with DSP room correction? Regards, Mike
  14. Dude long time no speak! Sorry for your troubles. I'd still like to do that Red Sox's gig this summer if you're up to it. Give me a ring: 800.332.3454 - office 410.677.6561 - res.
  15. I have a pair in bonus room collecting dust. 8/10 - 9/10, conservative - all black. $1,000.00 Regards, Mike
  16. I own a 303/300 CD player and its great! To be able to change the upsampling and tube / solid state output on the fly is a tremendous feature. The five channel amp was rated by The Absolute Sound as one of 2005 best buys in multichannel amps. They compared it to the Plinius line and basically said save your money... In addition I had the chance to meet some of the folks at Cary at CEDIA in September. My opinion was they are top shelf folks and dedicated to the market place. If you don't have a dealer send me an email at mmiles442004@yahoo.com and I'll get you in touch with my contacts. Regards, Mike
  17. I have (still have but not in use... for sale actually) RF7s and the Martin Logan Summits. The ML's out perform them in, imaging, clarity, depth and midrange reproduction (vocal, piano, horns) is outstanding. My amp is a Parasound HALO A51(soon to replaced with the PS AUDIO GCAMC 500 x 7) with C1 processor and the source is a Cary Audio Design 303/300 CDP. Nope it ain't Mark Levinson, Classe, VTL or Halcro but it ain't to bad neither... With that said the Klipsch at a MSRP of $2,200.00 vs the ML Summits at $10,000.00 is a better value . Regards, Mike
  18. Estimated cut out - 14 1/4 H x 8 1/2 W With trim plate - 15 7/8 H x 10 1/8 W Of course the fit in a 2 x 4 wall cavity. Regards, Mike
  19. Gary, I'll measure the units tonight for outside dimension with trim ring. The grill can be painted but the grill and trim ring is white to start with. I am not sure of the trim. These where the top of the line Reference in-walls just a year or so ago but times change... Let me know. Regards, Mike
  20. Sorry moderators to "bump" my own thread but here is an update... There will be 3 x RSW5's for sale. I will be installing a different in-wall to better match my present main speakers. This would make a perfect LCR combo or rear surrounds with a spare (possibly rear center). One unit has never been installed while the other two are presently in use and work great btw (watched "The Interpretor" last night). I did not retain the original boxes. Price: $525.00 takes all three and UPS Brown S&H is FREE. This is a great deal for some lucky person! Regards, Mike
  21. At present I have one RSW-5 for sale it was bought for a rear center channel and never installed. It was purchase in May 2004 from the local dealer. I do not have the original box. As mentioned above... "At present I have one RSW-5 for sale". That is due to the fact that I am installing a Control4 automation system with distributed audio and may use the present pair in the bonus room and install something else in the media theater room.
