I have a Modi 3+ and it's great. Their quality for the dollar is outstanding.

Was looking at Vidar,Vidar2 and Aegir. But this can allow me to experiment with a very low investment. I want to see what the Heresy will do with single digit wattage too.

I've got an Anthem MCA 225 g2, which is 225 watts per channel.  It's brand new, I bought back in February the week before the new Schiiters came out.  I'd like to buy two of the gjallarhorn just to see what it does in stereo and mono-block.  I don't regret buying the Anthem, I just want MOAR!!! LOL!

  2. The title says all of it, I think.  Wiring a Heresy I as a Center Channel on a 2-channel amp.

I have a set of Forte 1's and the guy I bought them from threw in a Heresy I.  He said he used the Heresy as a center channel for home theater and I supposed he meant with a 2-channel amp.  This past weekend, we watched John Wick 3 as the first movie just using the Fortes.  The dialog was laid back.  It was just different than with music and I thought using a center channel would resolve the issue, but I didn't want to go the way of a AVR.

Can someone tell me how to wire the Heresy I up to the amp without killing something expensive?

    Setup:

    Schiit Freya N Preamp

Anthem MCA 225 gen 2 amp

    Forte I's

    Heresy I

  3. Andrew typically reviews AVR type stuff with 2-channel gear sprinkled about from time to time.  When I first started getting into hi-fi about four years ago, I watched everything he put out, but over time I moved towards 2-channel I watched less and less.  He tends to use language coloring that just doesn't make common sense in a lot of reviews.  Almost like he's trying to best himself from previous reviews.

This is different.  The tone and tenor of the review is different.  I swear, there is an emotional vibe in this entire video that warrants a watch.  Please watch it, you owe it to yourself if you're a Heritage fan!

I picked up a pair of Forte 1's about a year now and it is the time to raise their performance. After many hours of reading here and elsewhere, I have some questions for those who have upgraded their Forte's or other extended Heritage models. My strong bias is towards products available from Klipsch and BEC. Not to dis anyone else, I am just more comfortable making changes that are closer to the original intention of the designers.

Hey guys, I just made arrangements to buy a nice set of Forte 1's.  I haven't picked them up yet, but according to the pictures, they are very close to being perfect.  Only a couple visible signs of wear and one of those is on the back (just a rubbing spot).  The speakers and passive radiators are pristine, which is unusual from what I've seen in eBay and Facebook marketplace posts.

    1. Questions: Who is BEC and where's his website or whatever so I can look at caps or crossovers?
    2. Is it worth upgrading the speakers in the Forte I to newer model speakers?
    3. Got any thread links you think may be interesting to me?

Thanks again for your input.  I know this thread is from 2012, but hopefully you guys can wake up for me.

  5. So, guys...what's this worth?  He still has them up for sale.  It's about a 2 hour drive for me, but I haven't contacted him as of yet.

What has Klipsch Restorations done to a set like this other than put this veneer on them?  Did they swap out the speakers?  Crossovers?  What does Klipsch Restorations do when they "restore" a speaker?

    Thanks
