  1. Yeah, wonder what kind of place we're bringing our boys up in and how safe we can really keep them....sad sad stuff....
  2. Drive mine with Sunfire Signature Series II Stereo Amp. 625x2 and I naturally bi-wire using the voltage output to the low end and the current outputs (has a 1 ohm impedance) to the high end. The Sunfire has the power they crave, a smooth top end, and runs very cool as a bonus.
  3. awww c'mon Max, let me be a little proud....you know how excited you are about your new TT? I'm still that excited about these speakers 18 months in....absolutley love them. I heard the new ones, but not in my room. Even so, as you said, to my ears any differences were very subtle so I'll be sticking with my "old" N802's...
  4. ---------------- I understand B&W will still be selling the older 802N version. Frankly if I were ever to go for B&W these would still be the ones I would go for as the price difference is just too big to justify the new versions. ----------------
  5. we did the same except moved to Texas from Chicago....funny how similar some of the paths we all take in life can be....now on the other hand my Mom will be here this week for her annual visit, years later I now feel bad she has to travel so far when she wants to come to our home...
  6. I have to interject here and ask.....How great is Van Morrison? This is some really amazing music....
  7. you know what I did Patrick? convinced my duaghter to have a small family wedding and I would put the down on their house....saved me a bunch and gave them a good start...there was some initial hesitation but both her and her husband are glad they made that choice, and they still had a nice simple wedding and and put their money towards the honeymoon...
  8. Yeah I know, but at least the foundation for them to go will be in place, and I have a few years to worry about the accessories...
  9. it really is cool, especially given how quickly college costs are inflating each year, and mine are 5 and 12 so we have a ways to go. the funny part is they discontinued any new enrollments in the program due to lack of participation...
  10. we're lucky here to have the Texas Tomorrow fund for kids college. Locked both my boys in at the tuition and campus housing fees in 2000 and pay monthly until they graduate from HS. They can then attend any state school they want with tuition and board covered, regardless of how they have inflated in the interim. if they go out of state the amount transfers intact and only the difference has to be covered. They'll be going to state schools in Texas.
  11. the Jolida left Texas today and should end its journey in California with you on Wednesday, sent you the tracking number, etc.
  12. trust me....they have an extremely low WAF...she still refers to me "holding our living room hostage...."
  13. I think once I got my wife past the Nautilus 802's in the living room, all other gear seemed kind of good looking to her....
  14. http://www.hdcd.com you can learn more here, I've had too many glasses of wine to reasonably explain much of anything right now...
  15. I can't see the bug ever ending, but my wife says she does....wonder what she knows that I don't????
  16. Welcome Wyatt! Hope you're getting better, the flu bug is definitely less expensive to have than the upgrade bug....
  17. never had HDCD before, it's a pretty impressive sound, too bad there aren't more titles in it...
  18. website says it does, haven't seen it in black, I went silver front
  19. it's an easy difference and both have their strengths...tubes on vocals, instrumentals and jazz feels more "real" and ss has a more forward sound for the harder stuff....both outputs sound incredible though. this is a cdp I will own for quite awhile...
