  1. Creative has their DDTS-100 out, like a DD-5.1 except with more decoding features, no lcd and priced around $150 us. YOu can also get a reciever with pre-outs like a Pioneer VSX-D812/912 or even an 811s if you can still find that. Priced from $200-$400. There are other recievers out there with pre outs and they will also offer more decoding features than either the DD-5.1 or the DDTS100
  2. Let us know how that reciever is. I love my Pioneer vsx-811ds , but it has horrid music playback. Im wondering if the updated models 812 or 912 have corrected this, also lack of bass in normal mode, you have to set it to midnight or loudness to get some decent lfe.
  3. Same here, I would keep my current DD-5.1 and get a Newer upgraded version with more features. But What I would also want is more control on the unit itself. Rather than rely on the remote to set it up, why not put buttons on the unit to set it up? The remote can readily be lost (for me it happened a few times, my 2 year old nephew made it his little airplane for a while ), and more Digital Inputs would be nice to hook more devices. Like 007 there should be a switch sort of function to bypass the decoder so we can get 5.1 or more in games from analog outputs, or perhaps put 5.1 analog inputs (Nice for DVD players like the Pioneer DV-563a, which can output DVD-A or SACD) in it and make a new Setting for 6ch analog output, like there is with Line 1,2, Aux. Hell, I would be prepared to pay $250 if that could be integrated.
  4. I don't see why it doesnt work with DTS, so that may be a problem. But for DVD-A, I believe it disables the digital out for copy protection reasons, and only analog outputs can be used -hence your A2's analog outputs. Connecting digitally from the A2 will only give you 2 ch sound in your games, in order to get full 5.1 surround in gaming with teh A2 u need to hook your speakers up to the analog outputs of the A2. Digital will only pass through a DD/DTS Multi channel signal.
  5. How do you have it connectd to your soundcard, and what mode is it on?
  6. If theres a ground problem, it wouldn't help.
  7. Did you et your revo to digital output?
  8. same here but i didnt get it when I used a coax cable to go to the spdif input. My hissing/buzzing was solved by getting a surge that had an noise filter on it. Im sure there are cheaper ones that do the job but i just spend $150 for a Monster HTS1000 surge strip.
  9. Yes it will separate the front right left and center, but the Rears won't be separated as in PL1 there are 4 channels 3 front discreet with the rear being mono.
  10. No theres no virtual 5.1, best you can do is upmix to Pro Logic 1, other than that only way to get true 5.1 sound from the DD-5.1 is to get something that has a DD or DTS encoded signal. What you can do is split the inputs of the ultras with a y Cable, and connect it to teh soundcard analog and digital, so all you would have to do is set your soundcard to analog out and let it do its own 5.1 upmix.
  11. No, im just using the stock cables that came with the DD-5.1 i only upgraded the wire from the speakers to the sub. Only thing I noticed about the the DD-5.1 is that it gets quite warm.
  12. I have the DD 5.1 set to Bass management off (all red lights) and my ultras are usually anywhere from 55+ primarily 55-65 and its very loud already. Rear is set to +5, center 0 to +3, and sub is 0 to +5, all depending on the material. Whenveer I use dolby digital i usually put volume on my Ultra pod to 65 and control volume from the dd5.1 on DTS its alot louder and i can drop my ultra pod to 50's even with my DD5.1 at -10 to -20 its still loud or louder than Dolby Digital 5.1 material. I also upgraded my wires to 16 gauge acoustic reasearch copper wires. Any other thing I can answer ot test out i'll be glad to. BTW I also have an Audigy 1 Platinum in this system running along side my Revolution.
  13. I just got my DD-5.1 today but Im not experiencing any volume problems. I hvae it hooked to my Revo card on digital coax output, within my card settigns i set it to digital output. Volume is normal and very loud at my normal promedia Ultra settings.
  14. Hello, im wondering about the SWS. I currently have the Monsoon MH-505's 5.1 setup which lacks in bass. What im wondering is, if I buy an SWS, since the xover on the monsoons is 200hz, will both subs be in use? Like Will the Monsoon sub work till a certain point then hand over the work to the SWS?
