Guess it's time to post a few I've thrown on lately.  Things are cranked here while I watch a lil NCAA women's hoops muted.  hahaha

Poco was an American country rock band originally formed in 1968 after the demise of Buffalo Springfield. Guitarists Richie Furay and Jim Messina, former members of Buffalo Springfield, were joined by multi-instrumentalist Rusty Young, bassist Randy Meisner, and drummer George Grantham. Meisner quit the band while they were recording their first album, Pickin' Up the Pieces, though his bass and backing vocal parts were kept in the final mix. He was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit in 1969, and Messina left in 1970 to be replaced by Paul Cotton. The line-up would change numerous times over the next several decades, with Rusty Young being the only constant member. A reunion of the founding members occurred in the late 1980s-early 1990s, and the band has continued in some form through 2021, though they retired from active touring in 2013, with Young citing health concerns as the primary cause of his retirement. Young died from a heart attack in April 2021.

Their second studio album released in 1970.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer (informally known as ELP) were an English progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1970.[2][3] The band consisted of Keith Emerson (keyboards) of the Nice, Greg Lake (vocals, bass, guitars, producer) of King Crimson, and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion) of Atomic Rooster. With nine RIAA-certified gold record albums in the US,[4] and an estimated 48 million records sold worldwide,[5] they are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock groups of the 1970s,[6][7] with a musical sound including adaptations of classical music with jazz and symphonic rock elements, dominated by Emerson's flamboyant use of the Hammond organ, Moog synthesizer, and piano (although Lake wrote several acoustic songs for the group).[8]

    Their first from 1970,

They followed right up in 1971 with Tarkus.  Both lp's reached the #5 spot in the UK .

Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's longest-existing and most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. In the 1970s, during which the band also included singer Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, Genesis were among the pioneers of progressive rock.

The group were formed by five Charterhouse pupils, including Banks, Rutherford, Gabriel and guitarist Anthony Phillips, and named by former Charterhouse pupil and pop impresario Jonathan King, who arranged for them to record several singles and their debut album From Genesis to Revelation in 1969. After splitting from King, the band began touring, signed with Charisma Records and became a progressive rock band on Trespass (1970). Phillips departed after the album's recording, with Banks, Rutherford and Gabriel recruiting Collins and Hackett before recording Nursery Cryme (1971).

  2. Well...thus far, even without the "several hour" recommended prime sound first time warmup. I have definitively recommend the Rogue Audio Sphinx V3 Magnum. I have had my Heresy IV's for about one month. Today is the first time that they were allowed to show what they are truly made of. From Brahms to Rush and beyond this amp has made such a difference in my listening experience. For the price  what you get cannot be overstated. Color me impressed.

I'm a bad boy...just picked up a Rogue Audio Sphinx v3 Magnum Amp. I hope the Wife doesn't kill me. 🥺

Just set up. Worth every penny. I highly recommend. Not to mention the billet aluminum remote is a weapon.

Lol....would never happen here. In my house the new component would be quickly stuffed up my rear end, and I would be asked..."how does it sound now"? 😉

I had thirty years of RUSH through my H2's and I was wowed back then... I get it bud!!

I'm one of the ones that never delved into their 80s-90s stuff myself. Have Signals, Power Windows, and Hold Your Fire though. Different... as always but alright!

I understand. I mean really...it's very difficult to break away from The Fountain of Lamneth once you get there. 😉 After a while I began to wander around. The walk was worth it. The later albums are all fantastic in their own right. I love the fact that they were never afraid to progress. Both with the music and with the technology. It's all done very tastefully. As a matter of fact, Neil stated that he believed that "The Garden" from Clockwork Angels, is in his opinion, the most beautiful song that they ever wrote.

    RUSH?

If you can find DMM at a decent price, which they haven't been since about six months after they came out, GET IT.

My Forte IIIs have a really nice soundstage and separation. Those Direct to Metal Mastering have a newfound feel to that soundstage! It's unreal. They were thirty at that time like a lot of other regular releases. Quadruple that six months later.

Only thing was the treble was increased, I was running on flat so I bumped up the bass to 12:30.

Working on it. I'm playing all of the ones I have through a pair of Heresy IV'S. They sound amazing. I mentioned this in previous posts...I was fortunate enough to meet The Professor twice. As a drummer, it was a thrill of a lifetime. Of course taking eight years worth of lessons from Joe Morello was incredible too, but to meet your hero and have him be exactly as you imagined is the stuff of dreams.

    Love that back and forth!

Not to mention @Klipsch104db playing a lot of my favorites that I think I still own... lately!

I have all but 4 of the studio albums on Vinyl. Still looking for them at a slightly lower than your first born price range. I'll find them sooner or later.

Spun Rush-Moving Pictures 4 times today. I am impressed with the sound quality! Don't be afraid of the Walmart vinyl!!

I don't care if it's scratched on sandpaper. ANY Rush is better than no Rush. 😉

    @Abomb Bobby Jarzombek School

Quite technical. clean notes and soft touch. Not my kind of drummer. He is probably one of the best. He seems young in this video. he has certainly grown and developed since. for that I have no doubt.

Issue if any. Moves in a straight line. Start and stops are generally same. Notes are not 4/4 or subsets of that throughout music. timing alterations of soundscape and backwards and forwards skills are underutilized here.

biggest issue if any. He isn't jamming. He is pausing waiting for a note to start hitting things. Traveling in sound is getting off to it. Flowing. His is brickish. again technical and cold. IMHO.

Mark Zonder - side by side (Fates Warning)

    Opeth - Master's Apprentice

or even Pearl Jam - 10 That album has what no other PJ album has. IMHO

I mean to feel it and get there, drum playing. Listen to the first 10 seconds of King Diamond - Abigail.  You know the journey you are about to go on.🤐

As I always say, all music is subjective. I took lessons with Joe Morello for eight years. He is considered one of the greatest jazz drummers if all time, and I learned a ton from him. That being said, his playing is just not my cup of tea. It doesn't take away from the talent and knowledge though. Same thing with speaker choice I suppose. Some folks hate Klipsch...I love them.

How is the album? I hate to ask.  Those guys are from FATES WARNING. Nice to see! For the longest time my favorite band hands down. For whatever reason John left the band. For whatever reason Master Drummer Mark Zonder left the band.

I just hit YOUTUBE. Heard a few pieces. Mixed feelings. 😑

I think it's great. As previously mentioned I am in fact a drummer. Zonder actually plays on two tracks, as well as a true drum God Bobby Jarzombek who in my opinion is on another lvl. If you have never heard of him YouTube him playing the song "School". That's a song from his Brothers band Spastic Ink. So no worries from the drumming end of things on this album.

I´ll try to make it short . Well , it´s a vintage japanese Micro Seiki DQX 1000 direct drive quartz controlled . They were built in the late 1970´tees and is the mother of all modern copied tt "oil rigs " . It´s a timeless tt concept that allows to mount up to three tonearms. I use one origin middel heavy modified Micro Seiki MA 505 MK II ( right sight ) and one light modified SME 3009 Tonearm ( back side ) . As I got different MI´s MM´s and MC´s in my cartridge collection it´s quiet important to meet their technical prerequisites like needle compilances and others.

The wole unit is controlled with that motor controller unit for power on / off ,  quartz lock on / off and speed control

Wow!!! I'm not making light of any of that but I bet it could also power the space shuttle. Amazing stuff!

I would definitely look for something that is ROON ready. Not sure if you are using ROON, but it's a great program if you are using streaming services such as Tidal, run a media server with High Resolution audio, and want to share it amongst other devices simultaneously.

Until you mentioned it I had never even heard of ROON. Thanks for the education, I just looked it up.
