  1. I did some listening tonight. A little Diana Krall (Live in Paris) and a little of The Who (Live at Royal Albert Hall). My system has never sounded better. It was playing loud and clean. I can't really give a technical audio answer, but I am very happy. I also just added some new interconnects (Cat Cables Silvercats) to my front 3 speakers, so they are probably contributing.

  2. I bought my Auralex products from truesoundcontrol.com. It looks like everyone sells their products for the same price. I bought a SFS-112 kit for $600 which included the 24 wall panels, the corner bass traps, and adhesive. I also bought a box of their Q'Fusor ceiling panels (14) for $280 and a Gramma subwoofer isolation platform for $50. They have free delivery on orders over $199 and I receive my items within a week.

  3. The acoustical panels are made by Auralex. Their placement was suggested by the free room analysis that they provide. You fax them a form that you get from their website. I had great email and phone communication with one of their engineers. I just put those up this past weekend.

  4. Thanks Michael. Any particular questions? My equipment is listed in my signature. Yes, I'm running a 6.1 setup. The RB-1080 (2x200WPC) is driving the RF-7s. The RMB-1075 (5x120WPC) is driving the rest. I'm using two of the channels to bi-amp the RC-7 that is the front center. The SVS PB12-Plus/2 has two 12 inch drivers and a 900 watt amp.

  5. Speaking of Billy Idol, I highly recommend the Billy Idol DVD "VH1 Storytellers". Performed in a small club. Soundtrack is great (even has DTS). I rarely see it mentioned or in a stored. I ordered from DeepDiscountDvd. Steve Stevens is awesome as usual.

Off the top of my head, I would also have to cast my vote for "The Joshua Tree". In fact, I think I will go listen to it. It's been a little while.

  6. I think the Denon receiver will work great for you. I used to run a Denon AVR-2803 and was very happy with it. The 2105 sounds like a lot of receiver for the money. If you decide against the DIY sub, I would suggest SVS.
