  1. I've got a 18'Wx23L' family room/home theater room with 7.5' ceilings. I have 4 RF-3II (2 front and 2 surround) and an RC-3II center channel. My question is the main seating position is approximately 19' from the front of my projection screen. What height should i elevate my rear surrounds (RF3-II's - in terms of the listeners ears and the center of the horn)? If I leave them on the floor they just seem to fire directly into my sectional sofa. Any input is apprecited. Mike
  2. I have a question for the Ear, did you say Paradigm PW2200 V3???? Last I checked they just came out with V2 making a huge leap from a 250 to 400 RMS amp. I don't think there is a V3 yet.... Mike
  3. Penguin, I too live in Canada and was looking into buying a PW-2200 V2. How much did you pay for it (before tax) and where did you buy it?
  4. If you can't wait till the end of 2003, you should be able to get the T763 model which will replace the T762. There's not a whole lot of differences but a lot of the bugs/quirks in the T762 is apparently fixed. You can read up on this in the AVS Forums. Here's a link on NAD's website of the new and upcoming products. http://www.nadelectronics.com/news/ds/
  5. Thanks for everyone's thoughts. One of the main reasons at looking at this model (NAD T762) vs separates is that it has "main-in" hook ups for 6x100watt amps. This will give me the ability to easily add a rear center as well as use the receiver as a stand-alone amp if a new 6.1 surround sound format comes out. For my HT, six speakers will be more than adequate. Regards.
  6. I'm looking into purchasing a NAD T762 Receiver and match it with a Klipsch Reference 3 Speakers (5.1 setup, 4 RF3-II's & RC3-II). Has anyone got a similar setup? Also I'd be thinking about adding a PW-2200 sub and since I live in Canada it would be more cost effective than most other brands (about $1000CAN with tax ~$650US). Can anyone provide comments on this system match-up? Thanks.
  7. I'm going to go with a price match ($699US) at Circuit City in Phoenix. I could perhaps get another RC3-II (for rear center - I have four RF3-II for fronts and rears) while I have the opportunity. Anyone know of any Klipsh dealers (in Pheonix) with deals on the RC3-II center? To make it worthwhile it would have to be priced less than $250US and (I've read in this forum that other people have picked up an RC3-II for $219US at an e-tailer).
  8. Is the HK525 receiver made in the US? I may pick one up in the Pheonix (I live in Canada) and if it made in the US there's no duty since it falls under the NAFTA agreement. Thanks, Mike
  9. Thanks for all the efforts...I really wanted to buy this receiver (HK525) from Costco, because of their great return policy and there's one located in my city. I could buy online, but most items that are shipped to Canada are handled at one point by UPS. I don't like the way they tend to handle shipping (parcel's end up looking like they've been dropped a couple flight of stairs, if you know what I mean). The second thing is "brokerage fee's" at the customs office. They can be pretty steep and add to the price. I can always try to get my brother's friend who can order the HK525 from Costco.com (since he lives in Phoenix - actually he plays for the Coyote's) and when my brother goes down in February, he can bring it back for me. Decisions, decisions.... I also went to another local Audio Dealer who sells NAD (specifically T762 model) equipment, and from what I read on Audioreviews.com they sound better than HK? -I need to make some quick decisions if I go with the HK525.
  10. Thanks for checking into the 2 Costco's in Phoenix for me. It's too bad that Costco's on-line site ships to the U.S. only. The locations of the Costco's in Arizona can be found here: http://www.costco.com/frameset.asp?trg=info%2Fcostconews%2Flocations%2Flocations%2Easp It's probably a long-shot, but there seems to be two other Costco's in Phoenix: 1) North Phoenix 2) Pheonix Business Center (I highly doubt this one) Would it be possible for you to call them for me? (it would save me the long distance charges). Thanks again kippyieh!
  11. Is there anyone that lives near a Costco store in Phoenix, Arizona? I know somebody that will be travelling to Phoenix and may be able to pick up one of these receivers (HK525) for me. There is a Costco in my city (Sudbury, Ontario) but they do not carry any high-end receivers. The advantage is that I can return the item at the local Costco if I have any problems with the receiver. I can buy the receiver at the local Future Shop $1499CAN (that's haggling with the salesman from $1799CAN), but I saw the receiver at Costco.com for $699US and probably save about $500CAN in the end. Thanks for you time, Mike
  12. If I upgraded the front center from an RC3-II to an RC7-II, would this be a better match to the other speakers (4 x RF3-II)
  13. Phil, I'm setting up a HT system similar to yours, RF3-II's (front) RF3-II's (rears) RC3-II (center) I'm looking for a reciever and could buy the Denon 3802 now for ($1150CAN) or wait a month to get the 3803 ($1750CAN). I know, what the technical differences are, but not sure if the 3803 is as warm as the 3802 (I'd prefer a warmer reciever with the Klipsch Reference Series). Do you think the 3803 is worth the extra money or should I buy the 3802 and save a few bucks? My second question is do you think that adding another RF3-II as a rear center (going from a 5.1 to 6.1) would improve my setup? Thanks, Mike
  14. I'm piecing together my surround system (6.1) and was wondering if someone offer any suggestions. I currently bought 4 Klipsch RF3-II (these babies are awesome) for a good deal from an authorized dealer and need to buy the rest of the system. I've been doing some research on the internet and came up with the following configuration. Room Size: 30'Lx18'Wx9.5H Receiver: HK AVR525 or Denon 3803 (I prefer a more warmer receiver to match my Klipsch but don't have the luxery of listening to Klipsch with a multitude of receivers - only heard them with a Denon 3802) Front Centre: RC3-II Front L/R: RF3-II Rear L/R: RF3-II Rear Center: RC3-II Subwoofer: SVS 20-39 PC+ DVD: Panasonic RP82 TV: 53" Pioneer SD 533HD5 What concern's me the most is using another RC3-II as a rear center, would it be the "best" choice for a rear center or should i try to by another RF3? Also, with this setup is it better to place the Rear L/R speakers on the back or side wall(s). Anyone out there using a similar configuration? Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.
