it's the little midrange horn in the Belle that needs the most attention, imo.

I built my own Belle bass bins and used an EV HR90 midrange horn. The larger horn loads the room better IMHO.

I've sold my beloved Cornwalls and replaced them with Klipsch Belles. These speakers are driven, some of the time, by my 2 watt per channel Yamamoto A08-S amp which uses EML 45 tubes.
My Cornwalls were upgraded with Bob Crites CT-125 tweeters and Bob's crossovers.
Now I'm considering upgrading the Belles and would like recommendations from those with more Klipsch Belle or crossover experience on what would sound best with these speakers for low power tube amps (I sometimes run my 16 WPC 211 Set Amps or 16 WPC EL-84 tube amp)?

Upgrading crossover components or changing out the crossovers is a good idea, but really it's the little midrange horn in the Belle that needs the most attention, imo.

Welcome back.
Are you going to be doing any audio shows/conferences, etc this year or next? I wouldn't mind attending one. I've never been and think it would be a fantastic experience.
As you can see I'm a little behind on this thread. Yes, I'll be doing three shows that I know of in 2014. First one will be AXPONA Chicago coming up in April. Next will be THE Show Newport, California at the end of May. Then Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver in October. I would also like to do the Capital Audiofest again in 2014, but I'll have to see if the budget can handle a fourth show.
These audio shows are a blast, especially the big ones like RMAF and THE Show Newport. The very best equipment from all over the world is there, and most of the rooms really sound good. I'm still having a great time doing these shows. I say 'still' because I've been told by other manufacturers that it gets old after a while.
Hope to see you at a show in 2014.

John Warren of North Reading Engineering has been extremely helpful to me during the development of the Vittora speaker. I was just scrolling through our email correspondence over the last couple of years, and there's 595 emails in his folder on my computer! He's provided me with a ton of information and answered a wide range of questions during that time. Thank you John.
Dean, there are many 'thank you's' scattered through the emails to John. I'm sure I've thanked him many times over the phone as well. I've probably said thank you several times as we shook hands after a meeting in person. I think you owe me an apology for giving me such a hard time about not saying thank you to John when clearly you were wrong about that.
There are a few people here on the forum that like to give me a hard time. I don't know why. Maybe they give others a hard time too. I don't deserve it. I'm not the one instigating issues here on the forum. Frankly I think Dean's problem is that he's jealous of my success with Volti Audio. The number of posts and the tone of his posts here is a little over the top if you ask me.

For the record, the Volti Audio V-Trac horn was the first Khorn replacement horn developed with a 2" throat - a feature that was soundly disregarded as unnecessary by ALK at the time. To my knowledge, the V-Trac horn, developed by me, with information that I gathered from many different sources, all of whom I have thanked numerous times and am eternally grateful to, has outsold all other Khorn replacement horns (regardless of throat size) combined. I believe this is because of the good marketing that I have done, implemented with information that I have gathered from many different sources, all of whom I have thanked numerous times and am eternally grateful to; and also because of my ability to take an idea through the prototype process and end up with a manufactured product; and also probably because most everyone who hears the V-Trac horn thinks it always has been and still is the best sounding replacement horn available for the Klipsch Khorn.
It should also be noted, that unlike all the other Klipsch upgrade parts suppliers, Volti Audio does not rely on the Klipsch forum for business. I'm not saying that Volti doesn't ever sell to a Klipsch forum member, I'm just saying that I'm not on here on a regular basis cultivating business.
I suppose I should thank Dean for keeping this thread up on top for the newbies here at the forum to see, and by doing so helping them become more acquainted with www.klipschupgrades.com

Very nice article, but it is sad he isn't staying in the Klipsch upgrade business. He does some of the best looking cabinetwork I have ever seen on speakers. Greg is a man who is truly following a passion. A true success story.

Actually, the Klipsch Upgrades business is doing better than I thought it would at this point. I focus on upgrades for Khorns and Belles, and I figured the number of people inclined to do upgrades that haven't already, would decline as the years went on, but the business has remained steady. It's good work that keeps the lights on at my shop, and I intend to continue as long as I can.

Greg, I was just wondering if you were ever going to get around to thanking the people here that made this possible? Al K, Bill Martinelli, John Warren, and to the guy that suggested the drivers to you. I read the review and was somewhat disappointed to see no mention of this forum and the indispensable help you received from it. I still remember Al taking the time to teach you so many things, including making you remove the putty you had added into the transition area of the throat of the V-trac - a design you could not have pulled off without Al K, JC (James Cullison), or Bill. I wish you the best, but please don't forget from whence you came.
Dean, I've thanked all these people in person multiple times. Why would you think I'm not thankful for the help I've received or that I have forgotten that I received help from so many people?
The Stereophile review was not the place for me to talk about my ties to the DIY community. If you need me to explain this to you in more detail, please send me an email and I will.
There have been many more people in addition to the ones you've listed who have helped me greatly to get Volti Audio off the ground. Every success that Volti has, is there at least in part because of the support I get from others, and I am most appreciative.

Someone just sent me the link to this thread. I haven't been here in a long time, geez it looks really different around here. Had to jump through a few hoops to get back into the mix.
Thank you for the kind words guys. I've been working my butt off to try and make Volti Audio into a real business that might someday be sustainable. It's hard.
The review in Stereophile worked out great. Art Dudley is such a nice guy. There wasn't another writer/reviewer in the industry better suited to reviewing the Vittoras than Art. I was very fortunate that he came into my room at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in 2012 and was quite taken by the Vittoras. I'm very pleased with the review of course, but what totally shocked me was the Class A rating in the October issue of SP. That is REALLY cool.
Still recovering from RMAF 2013. We made the best sound we've ever made there. A lot of credit goes to Gary Dews of BorderPatrol Audio and his fantastic 300B amplifiers.

bump for an interesting item form a reputable seller....can't believe these are not sold yet....
These ARE interesting, but there are a number of reasons why they aren't selling. My price is probably a bit high, the caps probably need replacing, and they are for the three-way setup and most people would prefer the four-way.
I'd take less money for them, just want to clean up my shelves a bit and I won't ever use these.

I've decided to sell my Jubilee speakers. These have very few hours of use and are cosmetically in excellent condition. K402 horns with K69 drivers.
I have original boxes and packing material and will arrange for shipping at competitive rates.
They are stock, as I received them from Klipsch. If you are interested in having wood veneer fronts, grills, or custom top cabinets, I am available for hire to do that work.

I've found that what people consider 'natural sounding reproduction' varies wildly from person to person, which I suppose is why there are so many choices out there for equipment. It IS a subjective hobby.
