Hahahaha... I did that yesterday, I ended up missing Genetics class =(. ---------------- I totally agree... I hate being on the 2nd floor with these things and my parents below... but once they are out of the house, its all good. -Dan

I dont really take kindly to my roommates 40 watts speakers being as loud as mine though... ---------------- If thats the case your roomates speakers must really sound bad (at that volume at least). Its not so much how "loud" speakers can go as it is how loud then can go without sounding like crap. What speakers does your roomate have btw? Im feeling some serious power from my 4.1s, that my old 50 watt speakers couldnt touch. -Dan
  3. I was curious if klipsch sold replacement speaker covers for their promedias? If not, anyone willing to sell me one or direct me to someone who can? thanks, -Dan
  4. It sounds like a soundcard issue to me. I would contact creative, I did that for some problems with my Audigy 2 and they fixed me up quickly. -Dan
  5. Are there any cards out there that would support a 6.2 or 7.2 system? -Dan
  6. word! I love these things... they sound even better on my new Audigy 2 soundcard. -Dan
  7. Well, I have to admit you guys had me a little concerned here. Posting all sorts of crap about speakers not working and whatnot did not do much for the consumer confidence. But I said to myself, "what the hell, these speakers look good... might as well give em a try." That was a month ago. At this point I can safely say that THESE SPEAKERS KICK ***. These is the best thing I have ever done for my computer, the sound/power/everything from these speakers just blows me away. I am actually playing games on my computer now because I love the sound. Ill find myself listening to a walkman or riding in my car and saying "damn, I wish i was listening to my 4.1s at home instead of this crap!" The power is really impressive considering i only put down 150 bucks for these things... my favorite part has to be the sub, my whole desk rattles during intense DOD sessions. My friends all thought I was nuts spending money on expensive computer speakers... it only took 5 mins for them to realize how wrong they were when they first heard these babys. As far as long term reliability goes, Im crossing my fingers... hopefully these speakers will do nicely. I play em loud, but try not to abuse em... always turn em off at the module when not in use, and I believe that Klipsch has a strong product here. Honestly I dont think they have problems... perhaps just a few unlucky people who posted on the forums. And these speakers seem brand new aside from mb 2 scratches and a small tear in the cloth on 1 sat, not a bad deal at all!!! So cheers to the folks at Klipsch! A great product at a great price! -Dan
  8. Man, im having the SAME problem. It seems that the rear speaker channels are busted? I tried switching my speakers from the front to the back and still no go. This is a damn shame as the speakers sound great otherwise... Calling Klipsch tomorrow... -Dan
  9. *bump* So no one has a suggestion? Does anyone use a sound card currently that they like/dont like? Im considering the Audigy 2, but how would a regular Audigy sound? Any advice GREATLY appretiated. Thanks again, -Dan
  10. Well, I believe all said and done I spent 160 on the refurbs, the game VE's being 186, so thats 26 bucks. Something I would be willing to pay but at this point its moot. Still a good deal however, if Im not satisfied with the refurbs I might return them and get those. Thanks for the the tip. -Dan
  11. lol sorry, i was kind of flipping out because of people talking up the fact that they were having problems. I think im better now... looking forward to recieving my own. -Dan

I only opened the box and inspected the speakers. They looked good but there was dog hair all over the place! What's up with that? You'd expect a little more from Klipsch. Does Klipsch do the refurb or is it contracted out? Looks like they came from California not Indy. Anyone have an answer about how the surround channels are derived? Thanks! ---------------- Hahaha.. dog hair?! It really makes me wonder what Klipsch means by "refurb". ---------------- How are the speakers? Anything wrong with em besides dog hair? How about the sound? -Dan
  13. Just ordered my 4.1s and looking to upgrade my soundcard in the very near future as it is a big POS (Riptide PCI Audio Device... i dunno, came with the comp ) and I doubt it will do my 4.1s justice. Currently I am looking at creative labs offerings, as they seem to be the industry leader. Im looking for a good economical card, I dont really need all the bells and whistles (so the Audigy 2 Plat. is out ), and after just buying these speakers I wont be able to afford them either. Just need a good card that will work well with the speakers. -Dan

If you want assurance and not having to worry about POS quality, then buy brand new! Come on guys. 99.9% of the messages mostly about complaints, on this forum wouldn't be here if you guys bought had bought brand new 4.1's. ---------------- Come on man, give us a break. Do you really think everyone has 250 bucks to plunk down on some speakers? And even if I did, I'm certainly not looking to throw my money out the window. They say factory spec performance and thats all I really care about. reguards, -Dan
