  1. Hi all. I have a RC-25 with duel binding posts. Was wondering how to wire it. Do i need to run two sets of wires from my denon 3803? Or just one set to either the top or bottom posts. Thanks all.
  2. Yes, the sf1 will be fine with the other speakers. I am running sf1's with a rc-25 center and rcw-5 for my back speakers and they hold up great. Just make sure you get a good subwoofer to make up for the weak low end from the sf1. Something like the rw-12 would be great or even a hsu stf2 works well with synergy stuff.
  3. When my wife and I bought our first house she said the same thing. "You want to hang those big black speakers where!?!?!" So, off I went to see what I could get for in wall speakers. I love my rcw-5. I have them set to large and they help shake things up a bit. With the 8" woofer it really sounds great. I have the rc-25 in front and the sf1(yes they are getting upgraded) in front with a denon 3803 and I think it works great. I do have to turn them down a bit to match up so I think they would be fine for you.
  4. So InnovaZero, just how big is the room you are using it in? Do you think it would work in my size room? If yeah, that would be great. Thanks
  5. Well, at first I was thinking about trying to stay under $1000. Then was just wondering if I did go up to $2000 if I would really see a difference in the "kick" with such a big room. If not, then I will just stick with the bang for buck idea. Other wise I will just hold out for a bit to get a really great sub for this room. Thanks
  6. So I gather from what you guys are saying is that the PB2+ should work even with this big a space and that the RSW-15 still wouldnt be enough. How about you Ear? You got any thoughts on this one? Thanks
  7. So what if I could go up to $2000. Do you think there are any subs in that range that could give that kick? Do you think that the rsw-15 would work then? I guess I could hide it behind something so the wife wouldnt freak out but I heard that the svs psb2 is huge so not sure if it would work as a end table or not. Oh, and is that even possible? Can you place stuff on a sub without them falling off? Thanks
  8. The amount I am going to spend is probably about $1000. I just wasnt sure if even spending more than that would give me the pressure I need to get the kick in the chest that I want. I thought about going to a store near me and trying to demo or buy for a day one of the $1500 to $2000 subs like the Sunfire True Subwoofer Signature. Atleast then I would know if it is even possible the get the pressure I need. the stf-2 that I have right now sounds good just doesnt give me that kick, so if I dont have to spend anymore that what I have now it will work out fine. Thanks
  9. So I will really need a big subwoofer for this room I guess. I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to get away with something cheaper or not. Now with the rsw-15 I really would get the "thump" in the chest that I want? OR could I go with the rsw-12 and be just as happy? Also where would you find out about building stuff on your own? I like the push pull idea of the RSW's but would have no idea where to start with that. Also what would building one cost? Thanks
  10. Hi guys, Was wondering how the rw-12 compaires to the hsu vtf2. I have a room that is 17 x 30 with a open stairway and am not sure if these subs will give me the "thump" in the gut with movies. I know I will hear them but I want to feel the base when watching movies. Also the specs look the same but havent had the chance to listen to them both to know how they compair. Thanks
  11. Hi all, just found this sub for sale at saturday audio exchange in chicago for $299. Not on NOUSAINE's list at all so not sure how it compaires to the RW-12 for around $500 or the hsu vtf2 at the same price. thanks
  12. I have a pair and love them. My wife didnt like my rb-15 on the walls so i got the rcw-5 and love them. I set them to large and they have really great sound with the 8" woofer. I am running a denon 3803 with them and they are a must have for people who have the waf going on. As far as the prive goes, sounds good. I got mine for 600 =( but I got them from a dealer and not online so not to bother by it.
  13. How do the Carver Knight Shadow subs compare to the definitive supercubes, either 1 or 2. Wife loved the sound and how small they were so looking for something in this size and price range.
  14. So I got the spl meter and set all the speakers to hit 75. Now what? I find it hard to believe that they charge $250 just for 5 minutes with a $30 spl meter. Thanks
  15. Hi all, I have a question about speaker set up for my new klipsch HT. The dealer wanted $250 to come to my house to just come and calibrate my system. I have everything set up i just always here you guys talking about technial things i dont really understand and i want to have the best sound i can for all the money i have spent. I heard you can get something from radio shack to help with setting up your speakers but wouldn't know what to do with it or how they can charge $250 when all you have to do is buy something for $40 and it would do the same thing. I have a denon 3803 mains SF-1 (yes i will be upgrading soon) center RC-25 rear RCW-5 sub cheap pos but looking at definitive supercub 2(have wife)
  16. Hi All, Just went with the wife to look at some subs. She liked the RW-12 sound but hated how big it was (of course). Listend to the Definitive super cube 2 and loved that one and the earthquake supernova 10. My question is what do you guys think of both of these subs. Also how can the earthquake which has only 250 watts hold up agaisnt the super cube that has 1200? Thanks
  17. I guess I don't really understand what a passive sub is. I thought when they said passive it ment it didnt have its own amp built in but the rsw has one. When i was reading the specs it sounded like one of the woofers was powered and the other was not. Then I guess the rw just has a port instead of that extra woofer. Or am I just way off in all of this. What I am looking for is for a sub that gives you that thump in your chest when a big explosion happens when watching movies or listening to hip-hop but my wife hates when the sub sounds like its working to hard. She said a good example is when you hear those cars with the base turned way up and it sounds like s*** and all you want to do is say turn it down. We listened to the RW 8, 10. 12 and she liked the RW-12 but it was just way to big looking for our room that is why i thought the rsw-10 might be better. Thanks again all
  18. Hi all, So I am about to upgrade my sub and was just wondering how different these two would sound. I have heard the RW-10 at a local shop but no one has the rsw-10 in stock here. I know the rsw has alot more power but didnt know if the new features of the rw make up for it. I am running a denon 3803 with sf-1 fronts rc-25 for center and rcw-5 for surrounds. Thanks
  19. Hi all. Just bought a new house and wanted to ask you guys a question. I have RC-25 center SF-1 and RB-15 for my system. For my new living room my couch is right against the back wall. It was prewired so that the rear speakers are behind and near the ceiling. Wife not thrilled about the look of the RB-15's on the wall and wanted to know how the RCW-3 sounds compaired to the RB-15. The tv is about 10 feet infront of the sitting area with a wall on the right side and then on the left it goes into the dinning room and kitchen so I think I would loose to much sound going with the RS-15. Thanks all
  20. Thats why I was thinking that I should pay more for the intown people. So i dont have to worry about any of that kind of thing. But the b stock one is a authorized dealer so i could get it fixed intown. Is b stock really a bad thing or not.
  21. Heh, that is the one I was looking at on ebay. If you scan down you see that it is b stock. the only other thing is that they do have a bunch of bad replies. I haven't bought alot of things on ebay so dont know if I really need to worry about it. thanks for the reply
  22. I want to get a Denon 3803 but not sure where to get it. I found one at tweeter for 1050 + tax. One on ebay for 860 including shipping-this one is "b stock" but it is an authorized dealer. And do I need to worry about "b stock" anyway? And acousticsounddesign.com has them for 920+ shipping. So, pay the most a get it intown, pay the least for b stock but it is still an authorized dealer, or go middle ground with a great online dealer? Thanks for the help
