  2. Is there any difference in audio quality in players under $200?
  3. I live in De pere, are you from WI?
  4. Hello All I just purchased a new home and have a 42 inch plasma in the living room and a 25 inch sharp in the basement hooked up to my RF-3II system. My wife doesn't want the "clutter' of my speakers in the living room that's why I have to settle for watching the 25 incher with my system. The only DVD player I have is on the plasma, I need suggestions for a DVD player under $200 (hey all my $$$ went into the house). Thank you for your help.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I would like to know what I should expect to hear from the receivers you recomend and if you have heard my speakers with the receiver. Thanks for your resoponses
  6. Hello All Thanks in advance for your response. I need to purchase a new receiver, my current one is 8 years old and I think my speakers have much more to give me then what my current receiver has to offer. I am currently running a yamaha RX-V520. I have the RF-3II's in the front, RC-3II center, and RS-3II's rear. Please recommend a receiver that will make these speakers sing, sound live, crisp and sharp. I primarily use them for dvd and music dvd watching. I would like to purchase a new model for around $700 - $800. Thank you
  7. ahhhh, Neil Diamond ROCKS. He has a voice that makes a wolverine purrrrr. My suggestion for this week would be Ugly Kid Joe, America's Least Wanted. CD I don't know what the protocol is for suggesting cd's, this is my first one. The above cd just makes me feel good, especialy Mr.Record Man, it takes me back.
  8. Thanks for the great info. I actually went to Best Buy tonight set on the Panasonic, but I wasn't going to purchase it until the price dropped to 999.99 on friday. However, after I watched it I determined that it was not even close to the quality of the other tv's around it. I decided to blow my load and purchase a 42" Samsung (you can see the model number in my profile). It was unbelievable in the store and for the price of 1599 I am happy with my purchase.
  9. I'm going to cut right to the chase. I just got married and received some Best Buy gift cards. While Best Buy is not my store of choice it is going to be by default for my next purchase. I need a new TV, my 25 incher isn't cutting it anymore. I would like to spend $1700 or less. I want a set some where in the 40+ inch range. I am going to be primarily watching sports and dvd's. I can make the room bright or dark. I will be buying a different home so I really can't tell you the room size. I am lazy with my TV research, I just want to say here is my money give me the best set for my money. Please provide name brands and model numbers. Thank you for your help.
  10. hello can I ask what you got for your RS3-II's. after hearing all the good reviews of the new klipsch i am in the market for an upgrade. thanks. please send response to ragingalcoholics@yahoo.com thank you for your time and response
  11. No, it wasn't Best Buy. It was an authorized dealer that just has an "at home" showroom.
  12. Yes, I have sound coming out of all speakers. It is not that they sound bad, it is that I am really not satisfied. The speakers are timbre matched. It is a work in progress calibrating them to my listening position. Every movie I watch, I try to make little adjustments. Like I said in my earlier post, I end up watching my movies in 5 channel mode because in the DTS or Digital mode I get very little from my rears and the rest don't really have the crystal clear and crisp sound (during musical dvd's) I am after. Is this because I do not have enough power to drive my rears? Could I really be wanting a bigger center? Thanks for all your time and help.
  13. Currently I am set-up in a 17x12 room, I believe all my speakers are posistioned correctly. I do most of my listening watching dvd's. All my connections are digital and should be adequate. I play around with the settings everytime I watch a movie, so while I may not have perfect setting I am adjusting weekly. Thanks again for your response.
  14. First I would like to appologize for 2 active posts. Along with the great info I have obtained from this forum in trying to tweak my system, I am also talking to my local Klipsch dealer. He says the new Klipsch speakers that are comperable to my RF3-II's will blow them (RF3-II's) out of the water. Is he correct, what are your thoughts? I have yet to hear them. Thanks for your response
  15. I have all my components hooked up with monster cabling, does that answer your question?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I have never heard the reference series subs, what would be the difference I could expect over my ksw-12? Maybe I am naive, but I thought my sub was okay.
  16. It does not have outputs to all channels
  17. would you upgrade the receiver or add an amp?
  18. Please look at my profile below. I previously purchased what my bank roll allowed me to. Now after a few years of not buying anything I am ready to give the system a tweak or two. After reading reviews, I have formed the opinion that my Reference II system should be enough speaker for me. There are also many klipsch posters that are very happy with them. However, I am just not hearing results. When I listen to them I am just mildly impressed. Is this due to the lack of power my receiver is putting out or due to the crappy dvd player I have? What tweaks would you do to my system to make my (censored) tingle when I listen to it? Change my receiver, add an amp, upgrade speakers? I could spend as much as $1500 or maybe $2000 depending on what I get. Thank you very much for your thoughts. I don't care about my 25 inch tv, that doesn't need upgrading quite yet.
  19. e-mail me at ragingalcoholics@yahoo.com and we can talk about the RF3-II's
  20. Thanks for the response, I had no idea that an updated DVD player could make that much of difference in audio. My efforts to purchase a new one must be doubled. Any other suggestions from the Klipsch forum?
  21. Hello all, I am sorry if this post has been talked about before it's been awhile since I last logged in. I am in the market for a new DVD player, I would like to have a single disc for 3 bills or less. PLease offer your suggestions and why.
  22. Great suggestions, Joe. The old Def Leppard is a big favorite of mine. RIP, Steve "steamin'" Clark.

    Amp

I would like to get one for around 700 or less. I would like to power all my channels.

    Amp

I am currently running a 5.1 set-up with a Yamaha receiver that lacks power. Instead of ditching the whole receiver can I get an amp to push out some extra power into all my speakers? If this is correct, will my DSP modes in my receiver be effected or will the amp just push out more power? Finally, could anyone recommend an amp that goes great with my reference series?
  25. I am not very happy with my RS3II's. I want to give a bookshelf model a shot. I am having a hard time trying to find a RB3 or RB5II on ebay. How would a RB35 sound with my RF3II's and RC3II? Thanks in advance for your response.
