  1. Couldn't you just use a y-splitter to split one of the channels into two and then run one of the channels to a soundcard with a lowpass filter?
  2. My original idea is kind of ridiculous... so instead I will just order the following. Adire Tempest Adire AVA250 Amplifier (for home) JBL BP600.1 (for car) The last question is... could the AVA250 be hooked up to the computer soundcard output? I have all my MP3s on my PC and this is where I want to use the sub.
  3. I just ordered two Shiva subwoofer drivers. My plan is to put them into a sealed 5 cubic foot box or a 6 cubic foot ported box down to 25Hz. I have no motivation to make some veneered, nice looking box. I just plan on building a solid box out of 3/4" MDF. In the car I will power these with an amp that will give it a two-ohm load. I am curious about a few things. --What kind of amp would I need to run that will give me a two-ohm load or eight-ohm load that I could plug into a 120V house socket? What kind of power would I need as well. --Would the sound still be decent in the room in terms of SQ from using just a MDF carpeted box? I'm just looking to add some crazy bass impact in my 15'*15' room because my Klipsch ProMedia ain't cuttin' it for my rap/hip-hop music.
  4. The sub is in the top right hand corner... The red dot is where the bass is the loudest. I'm think of getting another sub. But the SWS don't come to my dealer until May (they have to get the CSA electrical certification). I'm thinking of maybe adding another hard hitting sub (the SWS or maybe something from the Paradigm PS series). For future thought, where would I put it though to prevent wave cancelling?
  5. Where is the best place to put the subwoofer in my room in my case. I have it with the port facing the corner of the wall. The room is approximately 12ft * 15ft. I have 7 foot tall shelves on the side which probably impede some of the bass but I can't do anything about that. The red circle is where the bass is the loudest. Is this the best place for my subwoofer? Is there any other place that can give me more bass or is it time to get another woofer? LOL! Thanks.
  6. I want to keep my existing ProMedia subwoofer (it's still hitting hard as the day I bought it - even after 2 1/2 years! ) When I add this SWS subwoofer does it bypass the original subwoofer or does it use both? In addition: What is the frequency response of this woofer? And is the 100W power RMS or is it dynamic?
  7. I am looking for a pretty nice subwoofer which posseses some nice quality but can still put out some decent SPL levels down low. Currently I have listened to: PS-1200 = $790CDN <-seemed to have the 'boom' Velodyne CHT-10 = $680 <-seemed to be more accurate but not as deep or loud Are there any options that are available that are in the similar price range?
  8. I have a room of about 6m * 6m. I own the Klipsch ProMedia v2.400s with the CP-1 upgrade and monster cable mods. I want more bass for my rap and hip hop music with a speaker that won't bottom out. I want to run a home theatre sub in the back corner of my room in addition to the Klipsch ProMedias. I have my eye on the bandpass Paradigm PS-1000 or PS-1200 or the Velodyne CHT-10 and CHT-12. Do you think these speakers would be a little bit overkill considering the size of my room? Would they overpower the Klipsch satellites?
