  1. I have a 299c amp and a 350b tuner that have been just sitting in a box for since I bought them about a year ago. They are loaded with mullard and telefunken tubes that seem to be ok there seems to be a biasing potentiometer between each pair of power tubes. I pulled them out and hooked them up to a pair of Hereseys yesterday and other than some noisy switches they seemed to be ok and sounded great. After about 60 min. of use, one chanel started to cut out and then finally quit. I shut everything down right away as I don't know that much about these. Are there any rebuild kits available for these? I know a few forum members work on these for a living. How much will it cost to go thru them? I could do this myself probably, but I want to know all my options. These are for my shop: approximately 2000 sq.ft. welding/ sculpture studio (I love to listen to music when I work). Thank you for any and all replies. David
  2. do you have any photos? I'm in NYC and could pick these up. please email to: dmastny@earthlink.net Thanks David
  3. I want to supliment the bottom end of a pair of heresys (mid 80's vintage) driven by a upgraded dynaco st-70. Any sugestions? thanks, D.
  4. John, Thanks for the info, the type E-2 network is exactly the same as the E network except for the 33uf cap across the woofer. The inducer for the woofer is labeled 2304 I'm not sure of the value I assume it to be 2.5 mH their is a 2uf cap before the T2A on the + input and a 2uf cap between the #2 tap and the tweeter - terminal. the drivers are: K-77 tweeter K-53-K mid K-22-K woofer What can I do to improve the bass response? Can I take the 33uf cap out of circuit? will this bring the bass response down to 50 or 60 hz specs? Can anyone confirm the value of the "2304" inducer? If I remove the 33uf cap, should I change the inducer to one with a known value of 2.5mH?...perhaps an air core inductor? I'm in the process of upgrading/rebuilding a ST-70 to drive these and would like to have the Heresys ready to go. Thanks again for any expert advice and opinions. D. why did they change type E to Type E-2?
  5. I recently purchased a pair of heresys. I have the same driver/xover setup and I'm really disapointed in the base. what does the 33uf cap do in this circuit? can it be removed to make type e xover? any other sugestions?
  6. I'd love a copy also, e-mail dmastny@earthlink.net, and PayPal is no problem. Please send details, D.
