  1. Wow, haven't been here a while....Anyway, I wanted to know if they sound better. I got the Rf-3IIs. I am planning to upgrade to Rf-7s and a RSW-10. Should I go with the new lines? How much more expensive are they than the previous ones?
  2. Chroma bug may be a simple bug with a tiny picture flaw : you cannot be perfect. My denon 1600 has one of the most dumb functions , such as you can't skip chapters on DVD karaoke disks, as opposed to the half priced sony dvd I owned earlier. I'm just giving the original poster advice, that if he's going to buy a 1k or 2k dvd player, might as well be the best and free from flaws ( if ever possible), even from little ones like a chroma bug. However, to me, with a regular sony interlace tv, chroma or no chroma makes 100% no difference to me , it just there to comfort my arrogant wantings..... HECK , I don't even use the progressive function, so to tell the truth, any DVD is the same in my current setup: it is only my mind telling me its better since its an upgrade. You got the speaker cables for me yet Scott ? Give me a price, no problem and I'll send it , okay ? I'll be home this week and early next week for family events. BTW, ur PIONEER dvd is fionneeee, heck, I would try my current setup with yours anyday. Heard from SVS you got any subwoofer, damnnnn.... when there's a house up there for sale next to yours, let me know ASAP ! ! !
  3. Anyone knows the latest % discount? Last time I checked, it was around 40 or so. I hope it would reach 50.
  4. My recommendation: don't buy SONY or PANY. As always, Denon is good brand to go. They even have top dvd players ranging in the 1 or 2k areas. For starter, a 400 -500 dvd-1600 is suffice. I own one, and its picture quality wins over my previous Sony dvd player. Onkyo is pretty good. If you are to buy, why not buy a dvd that doesn't have chroma bug....if you want chroma bug, or in a similiar sense, to buy a dvd with a chroma bug, stays with your current DVD.
  5. I heard a while ago 1802 has same specs as 3802, but they are not sold in big stores like tweeter, etc. Instead, lower chain stores, such as Sears? ... Anyway, it seems odd Denon would do such thing, so give Denon a call or an email to verify.
  6. Yup, works like a charm. Loading is pretty slow for a $500 worth DVD player though...
  7. Stick with DENON. In my opinion, they have higher currents then Yamaha, as well as DENON specializes in receviers / DVD, whereas Yamaha specializes in too many fields. JMHO. BTW, a DENON 3802 would cost around 600. Go to a tweeter and they probably have a floor model with the warranty intact. H/K is nice as well.
  8. How much do you want for the center RC-3 alone with shipping? I'm interested in a 6.1 setup. -02148
  9. Soundcity is located at new jersey. I was gonna drive down there during my spring break to pick up the rf-3s, but they ran out.
  10. Hey, no prob. I think don't think soundcity has Denon 1600 though...
  11. That's true of course. If you can find an authorized dealer, which I think you did, for the price of 400, that's superb. I'm just giving you my two cents on my transaction with an unauthorized dealer, and not having any problem. Legend
  12. I bought two denon 1600s from nxgen.com. One for a friend, one for me. That was 3 weeks ago: No problem and works flawlessly. The picture quality is awesome. Only thing I hate is that I would use the remote to jump say from one song to #11 on karaoke DVDs, but it does not allow such thing! That just sux! Another thing is the remote is crap and the response to the remote is crap #2. The picture is worth it, but the functions? ....ahhhhhh Also the player is very very light. Either it has high quality parts ( which should be lighter than average parts) or simply this player needs to be review physically...
  13. Haha, sounds exciting!! Believe it or not, but it sounds like a lot of work, but its all fun work! I remembered how everytime I had nothing to do, what was the only practical thing to do? Yes, you guessed it: rearrange my messy cables, recalibrate the HT. Hahhaa, no life huh? Well, I do this maybe once every few months when I'm super bored..... But hey, that's sounds like super fun to me !!! Ahhh too bad there's no RF-9, then I could slip your rf-7s into my setup....!!!
  14. Haha , if I was your neighbor, there wouldn't be a need for another HT . I really wanted another pair of rf-3s, I'm leaning toward buying from brandnamez.com, since they have good reviews. Only drawback is that no warranty..aahhh decision decision I don't wanna wait 2 weeks before SC has them, that's unbearable!
  15. Heh, you got excellent memory Scott! Yes shipment is tomorrow, however, he said that he accepted 8 people's requests for them, but the shipment only has 6 pairs! He said to call him back again in 2 weeks ! What am I 2 do with no speakers ....Any idea Scott?
  16. Rf3 are out of stock at SOUNDCITY. Ahhh, what to do ...
  17. Scott, These prices are contrasts of soundC. and Tweeter? ....
  18. Mike, thanks for the pricings. They were very helpful. I'd love to get my hands on the rf-7s for the price you said (~1100). Are they from this popular "JOE" as well? Believe it or not, but I tried to call SoundC. a few times, and this one time, this person picks up, but it wasn't Joe. I asked him if he could give me some pricings on Klipsch, and his reply was, " I am sorry, we only sell KLIPSCH speakers in our store only." Scott, they said they would do me for 500 pick up, 575 shipped ( I can get it for 560 shipped, hopefully). The rf-5s are too pricy. If I was to upgrade, Rf-7 would be fine for around 1100 as Mike mentioned. I am willing to sell some audio parts I don't need, for now....
  19. That's superb pricing! Anyone happened to know their pricings on the rf-5 IIs ??
  20. How's the DENON 3803? Its probably good, since its a denon, as well as a new release over the legendary 3802. As for cable, take a look on ebay. You can buy a rol of 100ft 14gauge monster cable THX for around 22 bux plus shipping. That's darn cheapo...
  21. Nice! I wish I had good friends like that...haha Keep me posted now ...
  22. Scott, Just email me when you take the cable out. I'm off in 2 week, heck I can even call another road trip to worcester if you'd like. =).
  23. Sure, drop me a price. ( didn't know cablings inside the walls are related to home inspection...)
  24. Hey, Yea I'm always interested... Are the Monster Cable? My current speaker cable sux, 18 gauge home depot brand, heh. I don't know if quality cable sounds different, but I'm sure Klipsch sounds better than Polk. BTW, why you tearing down the old 10 gauge cables and replacing them with lesser quality 12 gauge? Isn't thicker always better? One more week of college, then its spring break...yahoo!
