  1. I have one in my bedroom that I've been using since college and have had no issues. Great little sub. I may be looking to part with it, it's complete overkill for the KG3.5s in my bedroom.
  2. For someone looking for a "top notch" amp on a budget, I would point them at a used Sunfire Cinema Grand. The 200 x 5 version comes up quite often on Audiogon for about $1000 and is a great amp.
  3. RS7s have no wood trim, so no cherry. They came in black, but could be special ordered in white as well.
  4. I've had several people PM me about them, but no one has shot me an offer. I've checked Audiogon and Ebay and can't find any other KL-120-THX for sale to get an idea what they are worth. Can someone check the bluebook on Audiogon? I don't have access to it. -Joe
  5. everything mint, no scratches or dings that I am aware of. I have all boxes and packing materials. Everything purchased new, directly from Klipsch in Dec '05. I have Klipsch invoices and packing slips for everything as well for warranty purposes.
  6. I'm looking at downgrading to a smaller system due to an upcoming change in my living situation and thus would have to part w/ the RF7 setup. What would be a fair asking price? I have the following: RF7 (cherry) RC7 (cherry) RS7 (cherry) Klipsch THX Ultra2 Subs (2 subs and one amp)
  7. Just a heads up. (not mine by the way, just found them on carigs list) http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ele/199871618.html
  8. Yeah i couldn't understand it either. He freaked out at first when I had everything hooked up. Can we turn that off at night? How long does it stay on? Can we change the amount of time it takes for auto off? At this point I explained to him that it is signal sensing and shuts itself off after about 15 mins. He seemed content. Then last night he had a big fit that everything was still drawing 1.7 amps (although most was his TV in standby) and freaked out that he wanted to have everything on switched outlets. I guess he's worried about the extra $2 or so that the amp draws a month in standby. Anyway, back to the origional post.... My power center (Monster HTPS 7000SS) has outlets that can be switched on or off via 12 volt trigger. If I shut off the amp by killing power to the outlet is that going to be a problem in the longrun? I'd rather just shut it down with the 12 volt trigger and let it sit in standby, but he won't shut up about it.
  9. I'm running a Sunfire Cinema Grand 400 Seven. It has a signal sensing auto on, but even in standby mode, it still draws almost half an amp. Not a big deal as far as I'm concerned, but my roommate is having a hissy fit over it. My power center has a 12 volt trigger in, that is assignable to certain outlets. If I were to run the 12volt trigger from the preamp to the power center, so it turns off power to the amp when the preamp is off will this hurt the amp at all? The amp would still be "on" and not in standby when the power gets killed to it. Any chance of long term side effects to turning on and shutting off the amp in this way?
  10. They are exactly the same. There are no "right" or "left"
  11. You gotta be kidding me. People actually sell him stuff at or near those prices??? That just doesn't make sense. I'd think that anybody that uses criagslist, would know enough to do a quick ebay search. Wow, good for him if he can pull it off.
  12. http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/wtb.pl?spkrfull&1160290057 What a waste of $6 for an audiogon listing.
  13. this one just went for $210
  14. That's kinda the impression that I got as well. The we're bad for movies and actually made the room seem a lot bigger than it was. The downside for me is in music. I think they were the BP7001SC. It was the smaller of the two subercube towers. They were about $3600 a pair.
  15. Has anyone owned Deffinitive Technology powered towers? I can find nothing but rave reviews in both magazines and on the web, but I went to audition them at a local dealer and thought they were just aweful. Very brittle highs and the bass was very boomy. I think they were the most fatiguing speaker i have ever listened too. We these just not setup properly? I am interested in replacing my aging bedroom speakers (KG3.5s) with something new and the idea of a powered tower seemed kinda interesting as I could run them full range and not have a sub. Has anyone owned a pair?
  16. $1200 is not bad for a pair of RF-7s. I wish they had more of the black ones though. My friend Josh bought them for half that. Last ones Ultimate had in the country though. One speaker came out of Vegas, and the other from Missouri. I would pick up another pair or tow at that cost if they still had them. They also had all their Monster Z series cables marked down a ton too. Like 60% off so they are now only mildly overpriced instead of grossly overpriced.
  17. I have the Denon 1920 and have been very happy with the video and audio performance.
  18. As of about two weeks ago, Ultimate Electronics had several left at various stores. All open box or demo. They also had some killer deals on Sunfire as well. They had a Theater grand IV for just over $900. www.ultimateelectronics.com call the closest store.
  19. Call around to local dealers. A friend of mine just purchased an open box (black) pair of RF-7s for $614 at Ultimate Electronics. That was for the pair, not each. They also had a few of the RSW15s available for $900, all demo models though.
  20. The RS-7 will use the same woofer, but a different tweeter that your fronts. I myself would go with a 3 series surround.
  21. I would stick wih the 25s if you can find them. I just bought a pair on closeout (open box, but they were mint) from Ultimate Electronics for about $450. Scout around your local dealers and see if they have any demo / open box that you can snag cheap.
  22. any takers? Is this a fair price or am I way off?
  23. I have two pre-amps for sale. One is a T-163 from NAD, which I had upgraded to the 2.0 firmware. Now does PLIIx as well as some other slick features. Have all accessories except for box. Also have a Sunfire Theater Grand IV pre-amp. Mint condition. Includes remote, and box as well as printed copy of manual. Looking for $800 for the NAD and $1900 for the Sunfire, but will entertain any reasonable offer.
  24. Another vote for the RF-7s. I think the 'flagship" has been in decline, I think the RF-7 is better than the RF-83, and the KLF-30 was better than both of them. Bring back the legend series!!
