  1. Our 2nd Chocolate Lab tore up her bed when she was a pup and left alone with our other lab at the time.  I think it was Christmas in 1990.  Marley & Blaze have full run of the house too, and our good boys.  There bag of dry dog food is just on the other side of one of those short gates.  They could get to it if they wanted, but they know better.

Got to get a 2nd cup of  :emotion-44: .  Need to cut grass too, but we have had so much rain around here, it needs to dry out.  I think Bloody Mary's are in order shortly.  The mosquitos are so bad that we are only going out to cut grass and take the dogs out.  They have a lot of pent up energy.  We may have to let them have some pool time today, but those friggin' mosquitos likely won't allow it.  We need some 20 mph+ winds.  With how hard it was raining yesterday, I said to my wife, maybe the rain will drown some of the rat bastards...or at least kill some of them from impact.  Wishful thinking.

  2. 1st - 1965 Dodge Coronet handed down from a great Uncle & Aunt to my mom, then me.  Low mileage but dents in every panel.

2nd - 1970 2-door Buick Skylark that I spent WAY TOO MUCH money and time converting to a Buick GS...hood, emblems, you name it.  I should have been spending more time with the chicks.  She was my Christine at the time.

no point in boring you all with the rest....

    now,

    1998 Honda Accord with 233k miles and a 2002 Suburban 4x4 with only 98k.

  3. Anybody ever check out any PRS guitars? They seem like a good guitar for the money, and they have great reviews.

Carlos Santana & Mark Tremonti play PRS.  My brother's brother-in-law has one, and he loves it.  I will check them out in the future.

Hmmm, Matt, seems like we may have a sweet spot with our 30s, right?

Indeed, Jim :)  I am liking what I hear so far.  I really need to move these Scala's, give em' 30's room to breath.  Think I am going to have to move them into the dinning room until they are sold.

Having the KLF's sure makes the sting of loosing the La Scala a little more bearable...

Letting a co-worker store his LaScala's in my basement with me hooking them up and rockin' them the whole time (maybe 6 months to a year, I don't remember), is what started this whole Klipsch sickness.  I shouldn't have ever let them leave the basement in my last house.  He offered them to me at a fair price at the time, but I was not familiar enough and thought they may soon be prone to the rotted surrounds.  Oh well, I am enjoying Eat A Peach right now through the Khorns, thanks to "storing" those LaScala's.

  5. I've seen quite a few KLF-30's on CL, but seeing them next to your LaScala's really has me wanting to see & hear some.  That really gave me some perspective of their size. Why are you parting with your LaScala's?  This goes without saying, but those are very sweet.  Sleep on it tonight, maybe you will keep them.  How close are you to Denver?  I have a friend that just moved back near Denver from Houston.  They may be too big for his current digs, until his new house is done.

Nevermind....You are in MO, I don't know why I thought you were in CO.  Vodka tonics kicking in, maybe?

  6. Selling my beloved...

1996 La Scala, lacquered birch.  All original with consecutive serial numbers.  Excellent condition!  $1800

That's a great picture!  Are those KLF 30's next to the LaScala's?  I haven't seen or heard KLF 30's, (or whatever those are) but damn, those make RF-7's look small.  GLWS!

  7. Morning folks....oops it's after 12:00 here.

In from the yard....mowing, edging, blowing, gutter cleaning.  Shower felt very nice.

There are some beautiful rosewood khorns 2 hours from here in excellent shape for $2500.  Wish I had another music room.

LF is doing yard work at her place and then off to the pool.  Jake is "resting his eyes".  I'm thinking about lunch.

Have a great weekend retirees and cheese chasers alike!

    Cheers Ladies :emotion-44: and Gents

Chuck, will you please go get them and set them up in the LF's house?  You can't go wrong.  C'mon, go get them already!

  8. LOVE IT!!!  How are the mosquitos down there?  Does Rodney need a permanent caretaker?  My wife & I and two labs maybe looking to relocate.  Are you catching some slab crappies?  Looks like you are having an awesome time.    :emotion-21:  :emotion-19:  :emotion-22:  :emotion-46:  :emotion-29:

    :)

Got some pics for y'all! This is our fishing spot and the view from our work space! Home away from home! Rodney's Lakehouse!

  9. I wish I could play better so I could justify buying more guitars.  I have a Tacoma acoustic I bought in '96, which was a splurge for me at $700.  My rationale was buy a nice guitar and I will play more...bite the bullet from the get-go.  Well, it didn't work.  I have a Fender Strat and that is it.  I have wanted a cherry sunburst Les Paul or Epiphone, but until my playing improves, and I deserve it, I won't buy another guitar.

I'm on the musiczoo's email list because I enjoy seeing all those beautiful guitars.  Other guitar lovers may like it as well, so here is the link.

  10. Love that REO one Todd -- that is a very rockin LP.

Yes, I agree.  It is one of their best.  I lived in Terre Haute, IN from 1969 - 1972 and they were the first band I experienced, at the entrance to an anchor store in a shopping mall (I was 8 or 9)!  Anyway, REO Two is my favorite studio album of them.

  11. My most memorable show was The Marshall Tucker Band at NIU's Fieldhouse, front row, in 1981.  They made us feel like they were performing and partying with us.  I've posted this in RTM recently, but here is my collage from the show with pics taken from my friends and I.  At that time there was no one between us and the band.

I think I'm going to have a new favorite performance after April 8, 2016.  I managed to get tickets for David Gilmour in Chicago.  Really excited to see this show because he is only doing four shows in North America.  Anyone else here on the forum going?

I was hoping you would be taking me, right?  I'll pay parking and beers!   :P

not sure what you guys pay for beer in Chicago--but that offer in Los Angeles…I’d be the one making out on the deal….last time i was at the Hollywood Bowl, beers were $12

Right!  I will bring the flasks.  I haven't been to a show at a large venue in years.  Most recently The House of Blues for Robin Trower and Led Zep2 a LZ tribute band.  Beers there were like 5 or 7 bucks for a 24 ounce can.
