Wanted to drop in on the Klipsch forums to let all you know who we are. =242= Squad is a group of guys who have centered around the "Friends First" "Gamers' Second" Motto. I have been gaming first person shooters and various flight simulator games since my honorable discharge from the active military in 1992. While in the military stationed in Mannheim Germany I used to ride a mountain bike around an awful lot and one day I came across a pair of speakers that I heard while at a Base Exchange in Heidelberg, Germany. After hearing them and knowing a little about them from a D.J. friend of mine, I just knew I had to get these beautiful speakers. Not only were they the best speakers I had ever heard but they were at such a great price as they were the last pair they had. Since buying those Klipsch Chorus Speakers and getting out of the military. I have been homeless twice been through earthquakes and floods in Napa Valley California. I have lived in "lack of the love shacks" lived in tents had a few hard times as a Veteran and some needs I guess, but I always somehow came up with a home for my treasured Klipsch speakers. I remember walking through flood waters holding my Klipsch 89lb. speaker above my head saving them from the demise of floodwaters. Not sure how I always had a home for them as I froze cold every night for some time not once but twice being homeless. Now you think that these speakers in being taken from one place to another they would be damaged but still they are in pristine condition.

Recently I was downsizing on everything from my T.V. to my stereo system. Had to do this because of my back injury and a possible move coming up. I got 46" Sharp Aquos LCD to replace the Sony Trinitron 36" which was so heavy that it would make Hulk Hogan develop a hernia. Next items in line for a downsize were my Klipsch Chorus Speakers. Something in me flashed back like a romantic movie thinkin' about all the memories I had over the years with them. I mean do you know how hard it is to ride a Klipsch Speaker from Heidelberg to Mannheim on a Cannondale Mountain bike and then to do it twice! Something in me just could not get rid of these 2 babies of mine. So here I am as a gamer over the years realizing the need for multi-media speakers and Klipsch rose to the challenge once again for me.

Klipsch has become a family heritage for me and my brother and I have to admit some of the new 5.1 and 7.1 systems I have dreamt about will perhaps stay in my dreams as I just can't force myself to get rid of these classic icon's in the speaker industry. I have never once put headphones on my head while gaming or listening to music at home. Not ONCE! Whatever it is in life I must go through I welcome as hard it might be, but at those times when I couldn't afford the cost of supplying energy to my Adcom amp to power these speakers it was then I didn't have a relief from the stress of the day. When I have had to go small those 5.1 media speakers have kept me juices flowing. They have spawned appreciation for music and sound in general I might have never had.

So you might be asking what does all this have to do with a gaming squad. Well all in all, appreciating sound moved me into the gaming community as some of these games are extremely intense to test your speakers. The more I like to hear through my Klipsch the more I have aspired to game with friends. Thus inducting my own gaming squad. =242= Squad has been in the works for the last 2.5 years and it has been an up and down as a community but we have several solid members that appreciate and respect eachother. I would like to extend an invite to any member of the Klipsch community to come in and check us out. Don't come in just to play with us though, come in to talk with us and share with us a bit of yourself as we share a bit of ourselves. We have active duty military that play in our ranks. We have some veterans and even some youngins' as well. There is something for everyone in our squad. Sometimes I don't even game, in fact not all that much as of lately. I probably do more tech support for pc users and gamers than anything. So again if your lookin' for some place to hang with fellow gamers, bring your Klipsch and the 3D they bring to your ears and join us for a good time.

We use a voice over ip called Ventrilo to talk with each other and it cost nothing. We also use our Vent's to assist the military and veterans' alike an alternative source of communication. This helps cut the extreme cost of a telephone near or far. We have our own gaming servers for Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty "World at War", Blackhawk Down, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Counter Strike Source. Our website is: 242hq.com

Come and try our comraderie...

Welcome to the Front...
