Normo
I have a pair of pretty beat up w70s ( at least I think I do) with the wrong tweeters, and a strange crossover. These are square magnet 15" drivers with a curled (convex) surround. I don't know their range. Could they be a good substitute in a cornscala? Just trying to minimize costs since I have them. Thanks Norm
michael hurd
I doubt they would be a match for sensitivity, and the box size of the proposed unit. In other words, kind of like trying to retrofit a Honda engine in a GMC pickup. While it will make sound, it won't be quite optimum. You could theoretically lower the output of the tweeter and midrange to match the woofer, if the woofer goes up high enough in frequency. The woofer may not be a good match for the cornscala volume and tuning, depending on the characteristics of the woofer. Without being able to test and get accurate information, it's kind of a shot in the dark.
