Guest " "
some general comments tweeters = smaller the size usally is better due to lower mass and smaller dia. smaller dia means beaming will take place at higher frequencies. mid drivers = 2" is sometimes better than 1" since the lowest possible frequency the mid driver can reproduce factors in diaphragm dia. for 3 way mass is less of a problem. 2 way systems mass becomes and issue and you would not see 3" coils on drivers used in 2 ways. woofers = 4" usally has more power handling than 3". But since the mass of a 4" is higher than a 3" there is usally a trade off in reguards to the lowest possible frequency the woofer can reproduce. efzauner
larger voice coils have more surface area to dissipate heat for given number of turns and ohms.
