hwatkins
I have narrowed my choices to these two Denon's. Who has had experience with both (hopefully on heresy's) and can offer an opinion on reproduction qualities for HT and Music? I believe the 3802 has a different chip for HT processing. ------------------ Henry Watkins
Steve Phillips
For no more money that the 3802 is gonna cost ya,I'd go with it.The power difference is not that great. The SHARC 32-bit processor might be an improvement. But the other goodies are worth it.I like the remote better than the one that comes with the 2802. I upgraded from the 2800 to the 3801,didn't notice any improvement in sound. My 2800 was a year old when I changed, the 2800 sounded a bit better,in my opinion it does take a few hours for new "anything"to break in. As far as how they sound on HT and tunes,we love them. They both drive Heritage so maybe that will answer your question with Heresy. ------------------ Main HT:'77 Klipschorns w/ALKs, '75 Heresy center, modified with,K-Horn sqauwker & AA network. hwatkins
Thanks for the well thought out response and use of your experience. Leaning your recommended way for same reasons, but could not validate in real world - local listing did not have any heritage speakers to listen to. ------------------ Henry Watkins
Steve Phillips
I should have mentioned that the 2 Denon POA-2800 amps were added after the 3801.I feel the 2800's better sound came from the "break-in"and the 3801 need some time. The amps made a noticeable improvement for the better. Not that the 3801 didn't sound good, just better after the amps.
hwatkins
Cool - that is what I understood, but thanks for taking the time to clarify. Cheers - I am on my way to having a room where the wals are nothing but Heresy's ------------------ Henry Watkins
