jsteed
I recently purchased a pair of rp5s from Ubid. Great price....HORRIBLE customer service. I'll tell the story if anyone wants to know. My question is shouldn't the sub woofers panel face out on the respective speaker? My speakers are the same with the sub panel on the right side of the cabinet. I contacted Klipsch, but could only reach the parts department. They said "Yes there are two seperate speakers. A left and a right...each should have a sub facing out." I would like to get my facts straight before contacting Ubid. Thanks, Jeff

I too just received my Rp5 bfrom Ubid. They got it right. Both Subs facing out, marked on box A & B. Guest BobG
As you stand behind the speaker, the side that the sub is on determines whether the RP-5 (or RP-3) is a Left or a Right. They were sold as pairs so you could experiment with subs out vs. subs in for best sound. In some cases, both subs right or both left migt sound better. Did your boxes not have large colorful R or L stickers?
jsteed
Thanks for your reply, I was told by a Klipsch Rep the subwoofer should face out, away from the tv. So standing in front of the speaker with the subs face on the right side of the speaker would make it a right speaker . That makes sense to me. I purchased the rp5 on Ubid but only received one 2 1/2 months later. It took another 2 1/2 months to receive the other speaker. The exact same as the one I already had. I unpacked and inspected both speakers and discovered one speaker seemed to work great but the body and grill were damaged. The Sub on the other speaker doesn't work at all. The only markings I saw on the box was the letter "A" in an orange rectangle. This has become a nightmare. If it werent for Klipsch and the quality of their merchanidise I would have given up long ago. Thanks again for everyones help. Jeff
