CopperTom
Yesterday, while listening to some music, my SUB-10 got extremly bassy - it started shaking the entire house. Even when I turned my receiver to very low volume levels, the SUB-10 continued to thump away as if I still had the volume extremely high. I unplugged the SUB overnight with no luck. I changed the cable with no luck. I tried the subwoofer from my "other" set-up and the subwoofer worked fine. I placed my SUB-10 in the "other" set-up and it still thumping away at ultra-bass levels. Currently, I have the gain at the minimum level and I can feel the bass in the next room. Is there anything I can try to alleviate this? CECAA850
Sounds like you've tried just about everything. You've narrowed the problem down to the sub itself. As long as the gain knob isn't loose on the shaft, I'd say you have an amp issue. Welcome to the forum.
CopperTom
The gain knob isn't loose. If it's the amp, the Klipsch warranty doesn't cover that, right? Is it worth replacing?
CECAA850
If you bought it from an authorized dealer as the original owner and it's in the warranty time frame, then yes, it should be covered under the manufacturers warranty.
