Extra Strength
Does anyone know the specs for a replacement 8 inch subwoofer for 5.1 ultra's? Ohms, power handeling, fs, qts and whatnot. Thanks
Fizzlemizzle
I have no idea for a direct replacement but dayton does make a quality 8 inch subwoofer. I have no idea if it would fit and you would need to buy 2. I can't do the math but I'm sure if they both fit the sound would be improved. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-
Extra Strength
Thank you and yes the daytons are very nice speakers for the money, I'm just not sure how well they'll work in dual firing sub design in around a 2 cubic square ft box. I have some experience with speaker building and know that good sound is in the details. Awhile back I tried to ask Klipsch what a good replacement for the 6" v200 was and never heard back. Ironically enough I tried using the 6" shielded Daytons as the foam rubber surrounds in the originals had disintegrated. Unfortunately I didn't check for clearance of the magnet shield when I re-installed the amp and I shorted the amp on the shield. I'll try asking Klipsch again and see if they're in a more forth coming mood. I have considered buying a single 12" sub and building a new box too it's specs but I would still need to know the impedance of the bash amp.
