vman71
I've upgraded the caps and resistors in my Chorus II xovers with Kimber Caps and Mills resistors. I'm thinking about bypassing the Kimber caps with some small value V-caps (.47uF). Any thoughts? Good or bad idea? Any suggestions?
Erland
Bypassing the caps is a great idea. I am not sure 0.47 uF is ideal? Ref "Caps guru" Tony Gee at Humble Homemade hifi, is it a must regardless what caps you are using in the xo. He reccomend Vishay Rodenstein 0.01uF/100VDC I followed that advise for all caps in Alkeng ES400/5800 for my Khorns. Great result! God luck. Guest David H
I like the Film and Foil bypass caps as well, I would not spend the $$$ for V-Caps. Then again, if ever I spent the green for the V-Caps I would convince myself that I hear an improvement, as I am not impervious to the audio-fool stigma.
