hap
How is a Heresy center speaker wired? Speaker A + to Heresy +; Speaker B + to Heresy-? BTW: Now have "new" Heresys tilted by placing a single 1 1/2" Mod Squad TipToe under the front edge center. Excellent sound stage, instrument placing and (I think?) a bit more solid bass. Double basses and cellos especially sound tighter/firmer.
PrestonTom
No, that would not be a good way to wire a center speaker. What you are looking for is that the center be fed the signal that is common to both the left and the right speakers. This is referred to as a summed center channel. It is also nice to have a way to adjust the gain on the center. Usually it is adjusted a few dB below the L & R speakers. The circuit is simple and consists of a few fixed resistors and a resistor pot. It is a passive circuit, but the center will need to be driven by an extra amplifier. Have a search of the threads for the pair of circuits suggested by P. Klipsch. If you have problems, I may have an extra "center" box somewhere in my garage. Emphasis on the word, "somewhere". The parts can be purchased at Radio Shack. If you pay more then $15 total, then you have paid too much.
