Klipsch rf-62 vs Cerwin Vega cls/xls-15

Hi there! first post:

I've never own klipsch or cerwin speakers. I like
what I've heard from both of them. I actually
own b&w 602.5. I like their natural and detailed sound but they do
not rock enough for me. When younger I had traditional design speakers
(3 way with 12 inches woofers). I want to buy a new pair of speakers to
replace my b&w. I want more live sound and punchy sound with still
some details (without going over $1500) I like the Klipsch Rf-62. But
I'm interested in the CV xls-15 too. Anybody knows how they compare
(well at least how the actual cls and klipsch reference might compare)? Someone tested them bot?

BTW, I use a denon stereo amp (pma serie). Thanks a lot for your help folks!

Here are some surprisingly impressive reviews of the cerwin vega cls speakers:

I looked at the CVs but I have never heard them so I don't have much to add. The RF series are very listenable loudspeakers and I have no problem recommending them for most all applications. There are some new lacewood Heresys on ebay right now, you might want to look at those.

Thanx, Russ

In my limited experiance (your milage will vary) with CVs, never owned a pair but heard plenty (they have loyal owners as welll) are great party speakers. They have great low mid range bang, but upper midrange is muddy and upper end lacks detail. Listen to alone they can be sorta be satisfying at higher volumes, but they are much more room dependent. If you were to compare them directly to the RF-62, I think the upper mids and highs would be so much more, "Better", IMO. Agains speakers are highly subjective. Listen to both with your well known songs. So many variables but this is really in the best case senario, the RF-62's win IMO.

Hi again folks!

So I've listen again to the cv: clean powerful sound, but undetailed. Well not enough detailed for me, espacially compared to b&w speakers. Sounds like when your in a bar.

I've listened to RF-62 and rf-82, fell in love with the rf82. So I brought them home (and got a sweet deal on them let me tell you!). I use a denon amp. I compared them side by side with my b&w 602.5: there's simply no comparison! The rf-82 have the same amount of detail, but they are 10 times more alive sounding that my b&w! And they have so much bass! These speakers are incredible, especially for the price, and they haven't pass the break-in period (they just did their first hour).Their sound is clear, detailed, warm, forward sounding: feels like you are in a live show (but with better sound quality!).

I'm in heaven!
