My fear is that this receiver is too much for these speakers. Pioneer Receiver: Amplifier Output Details 120 Watt - 8 Ohm - THD 0.05 % - 7 channel(s) ( Surround ) 350 Watts Quintet III: Nominal Output Power (Total) 275 Watt Max (RMS) Output Power (Total) 1100 Watt Response Bandwidth 120 - 23000 Hz Input Impedance 8 Ohm Crossover Frequency 2700Hz , 2800Hz Is this the right setup for me? Yup thats how I started out 1 year ago. The Quintets are a great little speaker that sound good considering there size. The good thing is you can slowly upgrade the system one speaker at a time ( well thats what I did, RB-81s then the matching reference center) Best of luck to you, let us know when the upgrade bug bites.
