Speakers blown? (4.1)

Last nite i played some music while i was sleeping and i woke up in the morning round 2 to turn it off. I stopped winamp but left the speakers on. Then around 6 there was huge static and popping noise coming from the speakers. no one was in my room and i was sleeping, the volume was set on very low. now everytime i turn on/off the speakers theres a huge popping noise and no sound can be played from it, seems like somethings blown? ive checked the connections and everything seems fine. I dont think its a power surge becuase the speakers are connected to a surge protector which is connected to a UPS system. thanks for any help.
