wscruiser
Well, tonight I went into my room to watch a little tv and found my SUB-10 dead. There it was over in the corner, blue light on, but no sound. Cut it off and on several times, unplugged it several times, checked the fuse, changed the cable, cussed it, beat on the top of it, and then pronounced it officially dead. Its less than 9 months old, and was used maybe 25 hours. At least it out lived the 3 CS700 systems that I ran through at the beginning of last year. I gave up on the CS system to go with this system. So, that makes 4 Klipsch powered sub-woofers that I've had trouble with over the past 12 months. Could that mean there may be a problem with Klipsch Quality Control? I'll be the first to admit that their Customer Service is top notch. They were very helpful with the problems that I had with the CS700, and I expect them to be just as helpful getting my SUB-10 up and going again. From a sports prospective, if your team has a 0-4 record, it means you suck.
Fizzlemizzle
Four in twelve months? Really? That would lead me to believe it could be something with your electrical or you are the most unlucky guy in the world. You know other companies make subwoofers right? There are awesome options in the $300 range. Look at elemental designs.
wscruiser
I really don't think it has anything to do with my wiring. I took all 3 CS systems back to the dealer for them to check out, all 3 would fail for them also. The SUB-10 seems to be a probelm with the transformer from what I've read on other posts; not an uncommon problem with this sub. Yes, I know that others make subs, but I wanted to stay loyal to Klipsch if I could. They were always very helpful in getting my other issues resolved. Plus, the SUB-10 was "matched" to go with the rest of my system.
