  1. I'd bet money that your amp board has gone out. I have a Sub-10 that basically did the same thing. Mine is under warranty, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd just contact Klipsch and buy the board direct from them. It is an easy remove/install. I took my sub back to the dealer; H H Gregg on 2/1/10. They sent it to Norman Electronics to be repaired. As of today at lunch, Norman's has yet to receive the replacement board. Its going on 8 weeks and I starting to get P.O.'d with the whole deal. Pay the $60 or so bucks out of your pocket and forget the warranty. You'll be much happier.
  2. I really don't think it has anything to do with my wiring. I took all 3 CS systems back to the dealer for them to check out, all 3 would fail for them also. The SUB-10 seems to be a probelm with the transformer from what I've read on other posts; not an uncommon problem with this sub. Yes, I know that others make subs, but I wanted to stay loyal to Klipsch if I could. They were always very helpful in getting my other issues resolved. Plus, the SUB-10 was "matched" to go with the rest of my system.
  3. Well, tonight I went into my room to watch a little tv and found my SUB-10 dead. There it was over in the corner, blue light on, but no sound. Cut it off and on several times, unplugged it several times, checked the fuse, changed the cable, cussed it, beat on the top of it, and then pronounced it officially dead. Its less than 9 months old, and was used maybe 25 hours. At least it out lived the 3 CS700 systems that I ran through at the beginning of last year. I gave up on the CS system to go with this system. So, that makes 4 Klipsch powered sub-woofers that I've had trouble with over the past 12 months. Could that mean there may be a problem with Klipsch Quality Control? I'll be the first to admit that their Customer Service is top notch. They were very helpful with the problems that I had with the CS700, and I expect them to be just as helpful getting my SUB-10 up and going again. From a sports prospective, if your team has a 0-4 record, it means you suck.
  4. Hummmm I've got a Philips LCD in my "man cave" that I've had no trouble with up to this point. So far, it has out lived 3 Klipsch CS700 systems, a Klipsch Sub-10, and a VERY high dollar Panasonic Plasma that we had in our livingroom. I guess I just got lucky on my Philips purchase. How many people do you know that have had a Plasma or LCD HDTV over say, 4 years? Do they still work properly?
  5. When I purchased my CS-700 system I had a "thumping" noise that came from my subwoofer when the unit was off. I contacted customer service and they quickly sent me out a new sub. The new sub didn't solve the problem, so I went back to customer service. This time they sent a complete new system. The new system works as it should; perfect. I would have designed the system settings to work a little differently, but I can live with it. I wouldn't trade it for 2 Bose systems. I have been extremely impressed in my dealings with Klipsch up to this point. I hope I never have to contact them again, but I know if I need to they will help me with my problems.
  6. You may want to check out the CS-500 or CS-700 2.1 systems. They produce an awesome sound with 2 front speakers and a subwoofer. Both systems come with a head unit that serves as the amp, cd/dvd player, am/fm radio. The CS-500 has a wired sub, the CS-700 comes with a wireless sub.
