dachuckster
I get the lucky task of repainting the bedroom. I currently have a set of IW250s ( I think) and both the white frame and the grilles were painted when i painted the room the last time. I cant leave them with the color they are now cuz the paint colors do not match. In hindsight I wish I had not painted them and left them white. What have others done to get the paint of the frame of the speaker and the grille?
Carbon_66
Soak the grills in water for a while. A little simple green or dish soap will expedite the process. The paint should fall off or be easily brushed off. If that works, take the drivers, crossovers, etc. out and soak the frames.
dachuckster
I did soak them a little bit in soap and water, then scrubbed them while using a spray on paint rmover from the home depot. A little elbow grease and TADA, the paint was off. Then I bought some white Krylon spray paint meant for plastic. It dries in 15 minutes and I applied several very thin coats and it worked great! The speakers are now back on the wall and they look FAB!
