jmb789
I have my sub hooked up to my Yamaha RX-V465BL receiver with a subwoofer cable going from the pre-out to a y-splitter to the sub. I'm running currently a 2.1 setup with a pair of F3. Even with the sub turned almost the whole way up during the auto tune feature the sub barely produces any noise. But it does recognize the sub. I have my Vizio 42" V0420E and my Philips Upconverting DVP3982/F7 dvd player hooked up. The tv is hooked up with a AV optical cable, the dvd player is HDMI in then HDMI out to the tv. The two front speakers sound good during playback. Just the sub doesn't seem to be kicking in. If I turn it all the way up I can kind of get some bass out of it. But if I plug the sub cable into the stereo on the back of the reciver I get plenty of bass with the sub. Could it be a receiver setting issue, sub cable, or maybe my TV and DVD player? I've tried setting it up multiple times and only with the sub plugged into the stereo out not the pre-out do I get the most bass. I've looked online for a few days but nothing seems to be helping any.
CECAA850
Sounds like a setup issue in the receiver. Do you have the sub turned to "on" or "yes" in the bass management section of the receiver? Are your speakers set to "small"?
