Klipsch x10 headphones REINFORCEMENTS

As many have noticed, the Klipsch x10s have a strain relief issue that I am not sure have been resolved yet but I suppose not considering the replacement pair I just received seems to be made out of the same material as the original that had split. My former pair that I returned had super glue on it when the strain relief did split because I had read from an old post on this site that there would be no warranty returns on these headphones because of the strain relief since it is only a cosmetic issue. About a year later and I hear that people get refunds on their x10s for the strain relief giving way so I did so too. I now have a new pair of x10s but I was wondering if I could reinforce the strain reliefs so I don't have to return them over and over again because obviously, the warranty will not last forever. I was thinking of using a piece of heat shrink wrap right over the strain reliefs. I was wondering if this would void the warranty too. I'm hoping to hear from a Klipsch specialist/employee him/herself before I try this. Obviously, anyones opinion, thoughts, experience, etc. are warmly welcomed as well.

Thanks in advance!
