FuzzyLogic
Hey, Been pricing out speakers online. The original reference series (ie, RF-62, RF-82) are significantly cheaper than the second generation (RF-62 II, RF-82 II) and the specs look almost identical. What's the deal? It looks like Klipsch slapped a "II" on the RF series and bumped up the price. Thanks for your time!
FuzzyLogic
Actually, one more question: is there a compelling reason to seek out a pair of RF-83s versus a set of RF-82 or RF-82 II's? Other than sheer power, I can't see a good reason to pursue them.
willland
is there a compelling reason to seek out a pair of RF-83s versus a set of RF-82 or RF-82 II's? Refinement, detail, and of course power. While the RF-82's are a great pair of speakers for a good price, the RF-83's(and RF-63's) will bring you much more. Real wood veneers, better bass response, and a smoother transition from woofers to horns(1.25in tweeter) are some of the obvious upgrades over the 82's. Personally, I would opt for a used pair of 63's or 83's over new 82's or 82II's. JMO. Bill
